Working from a Coffee Shop: Hardy’s Coffee Bar in Flemington
If you’re looking for great coffee in Hunterdon County, I highly recommend stopping by Hardy’s Coffee Bar located in downtown Flemington. This award-winning coffee shop opened its doors in December 2018.
Hardy’s Coffee bar is family-owned and operated; co-owners Peach and Danielle Hardy run the daily operations of the coffee shop including creating their signature drinks. The couple also c0-owns CUT, a hair salon next door to the coffee shop, where customers can enjoy a beverage while getting their hair done.

If you’re wondering why their logo is a dachshund (aka the reason I was drawn to their location) it’s because the couple has three long-haired dachshunds at home.
Coffee lovers will fall in love with Hardy’s coffee menu. Options include hand-poured coffee, espresso, cortados, cappuccinos, nitro beverages on tap, lattes, and the “One on One” (espresso split into two glasses, one topped with silkened milk).
All of their beans are sourced from single-origin plantations in high elevations. They are locally roasted at the Hardy’s roastery before being shipped to serve at their coffee shop.
Drink #1: The Woodsman
Made with Leggett’s Maple Syrup from Canada (a place frequented by the Hardy’s), “The Woodsman” is infused with cinnamon and blended together to make a two to one ratio for this cappuccino style beverage.

All of the drinks I enjoyed during my visit were made with care by Donny Hardy, Peach’s brother, and head baker for Hardy’s Coffee Bar. Be sure to grab one of his popular scones (vegan options available), muffins (vegan options available), and additional items like salads, quiches, and more.
Drink #2: Black Latte
This popular latte is made with a generous amount of Premium Shaved Dark Chocolate (Sourced from The Fudge Shoppe in Flemington) melted together with organic whole milk (I swapped for oat milk), blended with your choice of espresso, and garnished with more(!) chocolate.
It should also be noted that one of the things that differentiate Hardy’s Coffee Bar’s from other coffee shops is their water. They use a specially designed filtration system that makes their water without impurities but still leaves in select minerals to make a better-tasting coffee. Additionally, all coffee drinks are served on a tray along with a glass of water.
Drink #3: Thyme Lemonade
Their delicious Thyme Lemonade is made with expert craftsmanship, a perfect amount of sweetness, and is the perfect drink for warmer weather.
If you’re not a coffee drinker, their menu also features Matcha Lattes, Golden Lattes, Hot Chocolate (chocolate comes from the Fudge Shoppe), tea, and my favorite…chai lattes.
