Working from a Coffee Shop: Grover’s Mill Coffee Co in West Windsor

Definitely, one of the more unique coffee shops I’ve visited, the Grover’s Mill Coffee Co in West Windsor is a great place to work from. Located in a shopping center off of Route 571, this alien-themed coffee shop is out of this world.

Talk about a commitment to a theme! Their War of the World’s concept is present from top to bottom whether it’s in painted artwork, news articles from the radio broadcast, posters of the movie, or aliens sitting on the counter.

This is a coffee shop that takes great pride in their coffee, sourcing their freshly roasted coffee from 100% Arabica beans from around the world.. In addition to sourcing a wide variety, they “strive to use the most responsibly grown, small-scale farms whenever possible”. The majority of their products boast Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance Certified, and Shade-Grown labels. They’re a small business that supports small businesses.

Beverage #1: Over the Moon

One of their signature lattes, the Over the Moon is a mocha latte with strawberries. It was definitely unique.

Other coffee selections include 6 different drip coffees, an espresso bar, pour overs, French press, cold brew and more. They also do espresso in cookie shots (I’ve never seen that at a coffee shop before).

Grover’s Mill Coffee Co also has lots of pastries including scones, muffins, bear claws, and danishes. For breakfast, I grabbed an Iced Lemon Muffin which was delicious.

They also have cheesecake, assorted cake, pies, and gelato!

Beverage #2: Iced Decaf Americano

As a tea house, Grover’s Mill offers 12+ Loose Leaf Tea Options, Homemade Iced Tea and their own Red Espresso Rooibos “Espresso” Tea.

In addition to breakfast, I met a friend here for lunch. They have grilled paninis and cold sandwiches for lunch including a vegetarian sandwich, the “Hummus Heaven”.

In the Fall/Winter they offer gamey soups like Elk & Barley, Wild Boar Chili, and Espresso Venison Stew as well as vegetarian and vegan options like Hearty Lentil Vegetable Soup (Vegan) and Mushroom and Barley (Veg).

If you haven’t fallen in love with this coffee shop already, they package and use as many compostable and/or biodegradable items whenever possible. They have a strong commitment to the environment and encourage their customers to bring their own reusable travel cups and coffee/tea cans. Additionally, they separate their used coffee grinds from the trash, making it available for home gardeners and compost enthusiasts.
