Working from a Coffee Shop: 23 Skiddoo Cafe in Bloomfield, NJ

If you’re looking for a great place to work out of in Essex County, I highly suggest checking out 23 Skiddoo Cafe in Bloomfield, NJ. This local cafe has plenty of seating inside and outside, and it offers lots of great local coffee and baked goods.

This cute cafe offers lots of great options from lattes, cappuccinos, cold brew, matcha, seasonal options, and pour over coffee. They also offer growlers of local chai!

Beverage #1: Pumpkin Chai Latte

For my first drink I ordered a chai latte, and because it’s Fall and you can add pumpkin to anything, I got a pumpkin chai latte which is something I never had before.

It was delicious!

The cafe offers free WiFi and luckily there’s lots of space to work. I was one of many people there with my laptop getting things done. It’s very cozy.

The cafe is also decorated beautifully with local art work.

Beverage #2: Japanese Matcha

I love matcha so I was happy that 23 Skiddoo Cafe offered it. I was also happy because I could get my latte made with almond milk and they were able to make a design in it. Fact: making a latte design with almond milk is difficult.

The cafe has a large variety of delicious looking baked goods, and as I was getting hungry I couldn’t resist.

I ended up ordering a Nutella Kouign-Amann. I learned that a Kouign-Amann is what would happen if a croissant went on a sugar bender. It is also what the New York Times calls “the fattiest pastry in all of Europe“. Something I wish I knew ahead of time…

Either way this was one of the best pastries I’ve ever had and well worth the calories. I highly recommend it. For nutella lovers it’s a must.

I had a great time at 23 Skiddoo Cafe and got a lot of work done! The owner and people that work there are super friendly and the drinks are great. It’s definitely a charming spot.
