Working from a Coffee Shop: The Asbury Hotel in Asbury Park, NJ

It’s not every day I find myself in a situation where I need to work outside my home and I have my dog with me. And although there are places to work outside with a dog, on a rainy day in Asbury Park I found myself in a predicament. Solution: The Asbury Hotel.

The Asbury Hotel is a boutique hotel located close to the beach in Asbury Park. It has been rated one of the best hotels in the country. It’s also a pet friendly hotel, so I was grateful they allowed Peppy and I access to use their free WiFi so I could get some work done.

The place to get coffee or tea at the Asbury is “The Counter”. The Counter features a full coffee menu and lots of local flavor like juices from local Asbury Park Businesses like Juice Basin, doughnuts from Purple Glaze and Sweet Dani B Couture Cookies.

Beverage #1: Cold Brew

Made from their Asbury Park blend, this large, cold drink kept me caffeinated during my visit.

I also grabbed lunch during my visit. They make amazing thin crust pizza which I highly recommend. They also offer breakfast, sandwiches, salads, and snacks.

Beverage #2: Peppermint Green Tea

The Counter offers Tea Pigs tea, a local tea company based in Brooklyn and the UK. And yes, I took pictures with Peppy inside the Asbury Hotel’s photo booth. Cute, right?

The lobby of the Asbury was one of the most relaxing places I’ve worked so far. With a great selection of coffee, drinks, and food and accommodation to dogs it made a rainy day brighter.
