Small Business Saturday: Joey and Boots Barkery
As most pet parents know, not all dog treats are created equally, so it’s important to find healthy treats that they’ll love. Enter Joey and Boots Bakery, a dog bakery founded to create all-natural and peanut allergy-free treats with no hidden ingredients for all dogs to enjoy.
Founded by Faith Stanley, the “barkery” is named for her son Joey and his service dog Boots. Unlike other pet-friendly bakeries, Joey and Boots have a unique story and inspiration.
When Joey was diagnosed with autism his doctor recommended a service dog for him which Faith agreed would help her young son. However, a service dog was not something the family could not afford on their own. After raising money through a GoFundMe with the help of their community, Faith’s goal of getting a dog for Joey became a reality. For the full news story, click here.
Boots was matched with Joey through Merlin’s KIDS, a nonprofit organization based in New Jersey dedicated to providing individually trained service dogs to those in need.

Merlin’s KIDS “transforms the lives of dogs by rescuing them from shelters, training them, and giving them a very meaningful purpose to their lives.” These special dogs in turn help transform the lives of both the children and the adults they serve. Their dogs assist children with autism and other special needs, as well as victims of violence and abuse with their Courtroom Cortisol Canine Program.
Because Boots takes such great care of Joey, it’s important to Faith that she takes great care of Boots. She was inspired to make homemade treats and cakes for dogs which led to opening a dog bakery.
