Working from a Coffee Shop: Beanbury in Succusuna, NJ

Located off of Route 10 in Succusunna is a delightful coffee shop and cafe called Beanbury which opened to the public in March 2020. Despite opening right before the pandemic, Beanbury is thriving and recently celebrated their one year anniversary.

Beanbury is the offspring of co-owners Allie and Nick. Allie is the head barista and designer of their space which she describes as a “cozy, welcoming, trendy spot to live up to all your hipster vibe coffee shop dreams.” Nick is the Chef who is responsible for everything on their breakfast and lunch menu.

Perfect for coffee lovers, Beanbury offers everything from drip coffee, cortados, flat whites, espresso, pour overs, cold brew, lattes, and frozen options. If tea is more your thing they offer hot and iced tea, matcha, chai, and London fogs.

Additionally, they serve a medium-light roast espresso that is different than most coffee shops around them.

Drink #1: The Kiki – A Butter Beer inspired latte with sweetened condensed milk (iced)

Popular items on their menu include their Craft Cocktails (like their Breakfast Brew; espresso with fruit cereal infused milk), avocado toasts, breakfast wraps, and scones.

Drink #2: Honey Lavender Latte with Almond Milk (iced)

What sets them apart is their organic/all-natural ingredients that come in everything they serve. They value quality in ingredients so that you can taste the difference in their drinks.

If you plan to visit Beanbury often, they are constantly brainstorming new unique flavors and ways of presenting drinks in a creative way. They also have a rotating drink of the month.

As far as the food goes, they keep their menu small so they can focus on a handful of food items and execute them well. Everything is fresh and made daily in-house. You can find acai bowls, oatmeal, avocado toasts, a variety of baked goods, and a yogurt parfait made with Nick’s toasted granola (pictured below).

In general, the couple feels that what sets them apart from other coffee shops is their passion for clean/healthy ingredients and quality coffee. Allie told me during my visit that “Together we’re able to come up with great tasting drinks that don’t make you feel bad after drinking them. We love coffee and we just want to share that passion with other people.”
