Four Great Coffee Shops Within 1 Mile in Cape May!
In lieu of a “Working from a Coffee Shop” post, I wanted to share all the amazing Cape May coffee shops I visited in 72 hours. Whether it was in the downtown area or West Cape May, there’s a lot of great places to visit…and they’re all within walking distance. Get ready to get caffeinated.
Stop 1: Out There Coffee
Washington Commons; 315 Ocean St Unit #22, Cape May, NJ
Featuring coffee from local roastery Harry and Beans, this coffee shop located in Washington Commons features classic options like iced coffee, espresso, Americanos, lattes, tea, hot chocolate, and cappuccinos. They also offer unique options like the “Lumberjack” (espresso, maple syrup, and steamed milk), frozen hot chocolate, apple cider, London fogs, smoothies, and shakes.
I was intrigued by their “Superfood Lattes” since I was arriving post-workout. I highly enjoyed my Vanilla Maple Jade Matcha (Green tea powder + vanilla + maple syrup crystals), which I got iced.

Stop 2: Coffee Tyme
414 Washington St, Cape May, NJ & 315 Beach Ave, Cape May, NJ
The perfect stop for coffee while you’re shopping at the Washington Mall, or while walking along the beach. This popular spot is CASH ONLY and is known for its premium coffee and food made from scratch on the premises.

They can make you anything you want from espresso, lattes, macchiatos, cortados, and red eyes. I stopped there for an iced coffee…
and later returned to get a frozen mocha which I can’t recommend enough.

Stop 3: Magic Brain Coffee
31 Perry St, Cape May, NJ
Located right off Washington Mall is Magic Brain Coffee, known for its premium crafted espresso-based beverages and freshly baked pastries.

In addition to classic coffee options, they have an insane amount of syrup flavors to enhance your coffee, frappes, frozen chai lattes, smoothies, iced tea lemonades, Italian soda, and more. I enjoyed an iced coffee with almond milk.

Stop 4: Ostara’s Coffee House
600 Park Blvd 29 -3, West Cape May, NJ
Before leaving for home, I made a stop at Ostara’s in West Cape May (close to all the fun shops and restaurants!). If you’re looking for a unique and eclectic spot for coffee and tea options…this is your place. They love popculture, have a take a book leave a book special, and have a very creative asthetic.
I ordered the “Medusa”, an iced mango-lime green tea served with snake gummies (they were out of gummies), off their special Summer 2021 list.
In addition to drinks and food, they sell goods from local artists and vendors. I bought a super cute pair of NJ-themed earrings from Piper and Pearl Co.
