Wings & Things Festival Brings Cars, Crafts, and Family Fun on June 27

Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum invites the public to its popular Wings & Things Arts & Crafts Festival featuring Hot Rods at the Hangar on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The festival will once again transform the museum’s historic World War II hangar into a lively celebration of history, creativity, community, and classic cars.

The day will be packed with family-friendly activities, including live music by The Lost Sailors, hands-on arts and crafts for adults and children, face painting, caricatures, RC car racing, race car simulators provided by Game Glide Adventures, paddle boats for children, and chalk art. Guests can also browse a variety of arts and crafts vendors offering handmade goods, artwork, photography, jewelry, home décor, and more.

Visitors can also explore more than 26 historic aircraft and a variety of museum exhibits, including Camp Boardwalk: Atlantic City During World War II. Curated by Dr. Patty Chappine and presented in partnership with the Noyes Museum of Art of Stockton University, the exhibit examines life in Atlantic City during World War II.

Auto enthusiasts will enjoy Hot Rods at the Hangar, featuring an exciting lineup of vintage and modern vehicles. Those wishing to display their vehicle in the show must pre-register at 2026HOTRODSHANGARNASW.eventbrite.com.

The festival will also feature artwork from NASW’s annual Soarin’ High Art Contest. Artists of all ages from throughout the region were invited to submit original artwork celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, highlighting the nation’s history, people, places, traditions, and spirit. Contest entries will be proudly displayed during the event, allowing visitors to view the creativity and talent of participating artists.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of food and beverages from Mr. Potato Head, Hit the Road Jack, Poppin’ Bob’s, Hippie Kitty Coffee, and Pirate Pete’s. Guests can also relax in the Beer & Wine Garden or stop by Victory Scoops, the museum’s own ice cream parlor, for ice cream, shakes, snacks, and other treats.

Admission includes access to both the festival and the museum’s exhibits. Visitors are encouraged to explore the museum’s collection, climb the restored World War II Control Tower for a unique view of Historic Hangar #1 from above, and learn about the history of Naval Air Station Wildwood and the 42 Naval Aviators who lost their lives while training there during World War II. Standard museum admission rates apply. Museum memberships are also available and provide access to the museum’s full calendar of events and exhibits throughout the year.

Wings & Things is made possible in part through funding from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Cape May County Division of Culture & Heritage.
