The Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market – August 3rd, 2014

This is now my second time at the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market and this time my friends joined us! We had a lot of fun and all of us came home with a lot of cool stuff.

I should also mention that even though this is not a “food truck event* the Trenton PRFM always has awesome food trucks in attendance. Here is my tweet about who was there:

…and then I creepily stalked the Tot Cart.

There was a lot of great stuff to buy. Luckily my husband and I now have a home with blank walls to display some of the cool stuff we bought. Among them was this great piece from Rainbow Alternative, which my husband is holding in the picture. Central Jersey born and raised baby! You can also visit Rainbow Alternative’s Etsy store and you follow her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Also in attendance was True Jersey. They have a lot of AWESOME NJ merch. This week they’re my Etsy Store of the week! You can also check them out on Facebook Twitter and Pinterest.

I picked up original art from Brutal Squid which I’m pretty stoked about. It pretty much sums up my life.

If you’re looking for more NJ art products you should check out Chris Ernst Art:

I also got new light switch covers from Night Owl Designs. You can find the store on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

I picked up these awesome pop culture tile coasters from Luckydog Essentia and Curios.

My friend picked up this table from them. He’s clearly excited about it:

Other cool artists at the event were Bob Burke who specializes in art that glows in the dark and Bat Factory who makes creepy collectables. Super Sox Shop makes homemade socks, swords and other fun stuff, I Hug Trees Not People makes various upcycled & recycled products, The Fairy Oddmother makes nifty jewelry and other creative things, and Dreadfully Sweet who make cute/punk rock accessories.

I wrote about him in my last blog post about the Trenton PRFM, but Corey Hudson was once again in attendance. He makes art work out of reclaimed wood from Hurricane Sandy. He also gives 20% of the sale of each work of art to the Hurricane Sandy relief fund for the town where the wood came from. You can find out more on his website (linked to his name, above) and his Facebook.IMG_8835Be sure to like Trenton Rock Flea Market on Facebook Twitter @TrentonPRFM and Instagram to find out the next time they’ll be holding an event!

I personally can’t wait for the next event!

About the Trenton Rock Flea Market (from their website):

The Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market is a punk rock-inspired flea market that takes  place three times per year. We include vendors selling everything from vintage clothing, original artwork, antiques, silkscreened posters and handmade jewelry to handmade t-shirts, vintage toys, vinyl (of course) and numerous other interesting curiosities and unique collectibles.

photo 2(3)The TPRFM hosted our first event in January 2013 and welcomed just over 50 vendors and 2,000 attendees in a small urban art gallery. Fast forward to November of that same year and we hosted more than 200 vendors from around the tri-state area (NJ, NYC, PA, DE, MD), gourmet food trucks, live graffiti murals, a live DJ and more than 4,500 people as we rocked the Historic Roebling Machine Shop building (once the factory that created the wire rope for, as well as designed, the Brooklyn Bridge).

We embrace a life-long love of punk rock and hardcore, DIY ethics, the arts, tattoos, copious amounts of coffee, the occasional shot of Jameson and a solid, well-styled quiff. We hope you’ll join us at the next Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market!
