From cozy winter festivals and food-filled weekends to family-friendly expos, live entertainment, and unique seasonal celebrations, the new year kicks off with plenty to do across the state.

The Chocolate Expo

The Chocolate Expo has by far become the northeast’s largest chocolate-themed event. This fun shopping event is the perfect opportunity to shop indoors at the booths highlighting an array of different mediums. Over one hundred exhibitors will be set up in one huge gym with arts and crafts. The show is sponsored by Wayne Valley Theatre Parents and organized by P.J.’s Promotions. Just some of the items featured will be, puzzle, recycled, garden and resin art, spring florals, decorated porch signs, gnomes, apparel, fiber, stained glass, birdhouse, table runner, carpet bags, lighted bottles, soaps, and candles. Also, olive oils, honey, watercolors, pottery, dip mixes, turned wood bowls and pens, charcuterie boards, crochet animals, handcrafted jewelry, soft sculpture, children’s items, suncatchers, folk art, chocolates and much more. Hackettstown’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
March 8, 3:30 pm
This Irish-American tradition attracts more than 14,000 visitors—making this parade one of the biggest events in Hackettstown. Streets fill with enthusiasm as families, residents and visitors line up along the curb, in store windows and porches to celebrate and witness the festive parade. The parade will kick off at 3:30 pm with the Grand Marshal leading numerous participants including Irish dance groups, Irish bands, community groups, bagpipes, drums, Centenary University clubs and groups, animals, Hackettstown and surrounding area fire departments and rescue squads, as well as hometown favorites Junior and Senior Colonial Musketeers and the Hackettstown Community Band. This parade is pet-friendly, with a special pet costume contest sponsored by Doggie Styleashes. Pets will be invited to walk the parade as St. Patrick and Irish Heritage costume contestants after judging.
