My August in New Jersey

Despite the rainy days and the excessive heat, August was definitely a month to remember! I had a lot of fun exploring new diners, seeing  live music, and learning more about the human body! August 3rd – My first diner stop for the month was the Galaxy Diner, a 24-hour diner in Rahway. To read more about my visit, click here.

August 5th – I love Brunch, so I went out to eat at Gusto’s Grill with some of my favorite ladies. While I was there I enjoyed their Brie Pizza, something I’ve always wanted to try there. It was delicious!

PLUS we hit 60K on Instagram!! Thank you for your support!!

August 6th – One of my favorite things to do in the Summer…a county fair. On Monday night I enjoyed going to the Middlesex County Fair held in East Brunswick, NJ.

August 7th – My fellow diner appreciator Hollie from Fueled by LOLZ checked out the OB Diner together in Point Pleasant. To read more about our visit, click here.

August 8th – New merch alert! Be sure to check out the NJIB shop!

August 9th – I read the ENTIRE book of “The Last Time I Lied” by Riley Sager, a writer who also happens to reside in New Jersey. Be sure to read it for yourself!

August 10th – Another one of my favorite things to do in the Summer…Plays in the Park in Edison! I enjoyed the show “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” under the stars. Be sure to check them out next Summer!

August 11th – A scary day to be on the Turnpike! While visiting family in South Jersey we got hit was a nasty storm.

August 12th – I hosted a fun giveaway with Toca Coffee, located in Pompton Plains . Their coffee is amazing and I’m a big fan of supporting local coffee shops. Be sure to check them out.

August 15th – I love the Liberty Science Center, so I really enjoyed exploring it at a media preview for LSC After Dark, their 21+ event which is held the third Thursday of every month. This month’s theme was Booze and Boogers, so I enjoyed a margarita while walking through their new Grossology exhibit.

In addition to booze and science, the event also had amazing food vendors. I especially enjoyed this ice cream from Cryo Cream.

August 16th – I hosted trivia night at Devil’s Creek Brewery in Collingswood! I’ve always wanted to host trivia, and my Jersey themed trivia night was a lot of fun. Thank you to all who came out.

August 17th – What happens when you go to visit your friends and it starts downpouring? Order and pizza and watch reruns of the Office. My friends are lucky that they live in Madison, NJ, home to Romanelli’s a family owned pizza place since the 1970s. Sooooooo good.

August 18th – Sunday breakfast at a diner…of course! I checked out the New Dayton Diner on Route 130. To read more about my visit, click here.

August 21st – Got to check out a new restaurant in Montclair, Montclair Social Club! Open only at night, this hip restaurant and bar is a great place to grab a drink, dinner or dessert.

August 24th – Lunch with Hollie at the Schuyler Diner.  To read more about that click here

At night the hubby and I headed to Point Pleasant Boardwalk for a beautiful night.

We also caught a screening of Coco on the beach!

August 25th – Saturday night done right! Dinner at Nunzio’s in Sayreville, one of my favorite pizza places.

Walking around at the Raritan Bay Waterfront Park in South Amboy during a beautiful Summer night out.

August 26th – Sunday Funday! Music, sangria, and apple cider donuts at Terhune Orchards in Princeton with my pals! Definitely a great way to end out the week.

August 29th – I started my new Wellness Wednesday series, with green drinks and smoothies from Chef V Life. Definitely check them out at their home base in West Caldwell.

August 31st – Closing out the month I got to do something very fun and a little strange…but more fun…by catching the Little Mermen, a Disney cover band who played at the House of Independents in Asbury Park. Definitely a unique experience!
