Breakfast, Lunch , and Dinner in Cape May County

Cape May County has no shortage of delicious food, so when I found myself visiting the area for an overnight trip I visited 3 new locations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that I have not had previously been to. Looking for dining by the shore? I got ya!

Breakfast, Lunch , and Dinner in Cape May County:

Breakfast:
Looking for a quick and easy breakfast, I stopped by Mrs. Brizzles Buns in Sea Isle City.

Mrs. Brizzles Buns, owned by Pamela and Michael Cardinale, is a cash only food establishment open for breakfast and lunch. Popular with locals and tourists, Mrs. Brizzles is knowing for making their food “bigger and better” which is evidence by their huge cinnamon buns.

Homemade, hand rolled, made fresh, and served hot, these buns are worth the calories! And their cream cheese frosting? So good. Plus they’re easily shareable, and for a $3.75 price tag it’s the most affordable breakfast at the shore.

Not only are they famous for their buns, but you will be amazed watching one of their legendary sandwiches being made. Their massive sandwiches are made with layer after layer meat, cheese, and toppings. All sandwiches are sliced per order and are sold as either 12 inches (half) or 24 inches (whole). Each sandwich can feed multiple people.

Mrs. Brizzles is 50/50 bakery and deli and once you stop in you’ll never wonder how they stay busy all year round.

Lunch:
Looking to grab a meal away from the boardwalk? Check out Shoobies Good Eats in North Wildwood, which has plenty of (free) street parking around.

Shoobies has no shortage of “good eats” from their tacos, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. Where else can you find the “Hot Mess” (a Nutella spread and marshmallow fluff with lil m&m’s battered and deep fried), Jelly Fries (French fries with cool cream cheese and spicy pepper jelly), the Volcano Burger (Stuffed with American cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion caution: molten lave core will ooze out when sinking your teeth in) or buffalo chicken egg rolls?

Their sandwiches and tacos are made with quality seafood, choice beef, 100% fresh breast chicken, and slow roasted pulled pork. I opted for their Blackened Shrimp Tacos made with store made mango salsa and chipotle mayo.

With so many creative options, Shoobies Good Eats is definitely a spot you will need to hit up more than once.

Dinner:
To class it up before I left Sea Isle City, I visited Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House.

Doc Magrogan’s is an upscale dining establishment that features the freshest seafood in a fun, coastal themed environment. Oyster shell lighting fixtures? Very cool!

The menu’s raw bar had oysters (hence the name of the restaurant), clams, shrimp, and lump crab cocktail. Their appetizers include lots of fresh seafood including their Crispy Calamari, Steamed Mussels, Watermelon Tuna Tartare, and Grilled Octopus.

Vegetarians will also enjoy Doc Magrogan’s as their menu is very accommodating to their dietary needs. One of their appetizers, the Kung Pao Cauliflower Wings, was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

Vegan options include the “Impossible Burger” (100% Plant-Based Burger, Bibb Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Vegan Burger Roll, Side Salad, Pickle, Vegan Cheddar) and their Spicy Vegan Tofu Stir Fry.

Their seafood entrees include their famous crab cakes, steamer pots, ahi tuna, fish and chips, salmon, and their Pan-Seared Thai Halibut (featured below).

I also enjoy their Spaghetti Squash Puttanesca (Roasted Pulled Spaghetti Squash, Olives, Capers, Chillies, Anchovies, Smoked Tomatoes, Black Olive Oil, Parmesan Crisp), a very unique dish.

Looking to grab a drink at the bar? Doc Magrogan’s has plenty of local craft beer, wine, sangria, and signature cocktails.

And don’t forget dessert! Their chocolate moose. key lime pie, and peanut butter shooters are AMAZING.
