Dine Out in LBI at The Plantation and Tucker’s Tavern

There’s a lot of great food on Long Beach Island, but I’d like to feature two restaurants I had the pleasure of dining at during my last visit: The Plantation and Tucker’s Tavern.

Looking for a romantic evening or a just a great meal? Check out The Plantation (7908 Long Beach Blvd, Harvey Cedars, NJ) contemporary American restaurant in LBI.

One of the few places in LBI that are opened year round, the Plantation is a beautiful restaurant with an eclectic menu filled with land and sea items, cocktails, and delicious desserts.  The menu also has plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options for their patrons as well.

The restaurant features lots of delicious shareable appetizers like Lobster Gruyere Quesadillas, Wisconsin Cheese Curds, Spicy Tuna Nachos, and Viking Village Scallops & Bacon.

For main meals enjoy their Lump Crab cake Sandwich, Organic Tofu Stir Fry, Local Tuna, and their Atlantic Halibut.

Enjoy your food with their expertly put together cocktails like the Weekend Warrior (Sweet Tea Vodka, Lemoncello, Mint, Lemon, Honey, Iced Tea) or the Lady Maiden (Sky Citrus Vodka, Agave, Lime, Juiced Watermelon, Mint) as well as local craft beer and a full wine list.

And don’t forget dessert! The Plantation makes an amazing Key Lime Pie and Tahitian Creme Brulee. Definitely worth it..but you won’t want to share.

Looking for an amazing seafood meal with a raw bar, an awesome bar, and a killer view for a sunset? Check out Tucker’s Tavern(101 Southwest Ave, Beach Haven, NJ)! They are open for lunch, dinners, and brunch.

Tucker’s Tavern is an American Tavern that features gastro-pub style food with a twist. Their menu features creative beer-centric food and coastal beach favorites. It also features a very cool nautical bar with craft cocktails, craft beer, and wine.

For appetizers you can enjoy IPA Battered Wisconsin Cheese, Lacquered Chicken Wings (a MUST!), Sesame Tuna Poke, and Blistered Shishito Peppers.

Of course if you are dining at Tucker’s Tavern you should oblige in their raw bar which features Locally Harvested Clams, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, and their East Coast Oysters. I ordered a half dozen!

Their main menu features Wood Fired Items like their Wood Grilled Beef Tenderloin, Loaded Kobe Beef Dog, Grilled Faroe Island Salmon, and the Tucker’s Burger (fresh Hereford burger, shredded short rib, aged cheddar, sautéed onions, garlic aioli).

You can also enjoy comfort food like Ale Battered Fish & Chips and Lager Battered Onion Rings, sandwiches like the Smoked & Pulled Pork Sandwich, or seafood items like their Flash Seared Tuna (stir fried seasonal vegetables, Thai peanut sauce, wood grilled pineapple). Tucker’s Tavern also features daily specials like their Surf and Turf made with filet mignon and shrimp.
