“Alpaca” Your Bags to Jersey Shore Alpacas in Cape May

Looking for something to do in Cape May? Jersey Shore Alpacas is a fun little excursion while visiting Cape May County. Not only for beach season, this cute private farm is open year round.

Jersey Shore Alpacas is owned and operated by Jim and Tish Carpinelli who purchased their first two alpacas in 2005. They now have over 18 alpacas who are excited to meet you! Their farm is located in the back of their home where you can find “Alpaca Lovers Only” parking (or park anywhere on their driveway).

During your visithe staff will give you carrots to feed to feed the alpacas during your visit (both open days and private visits). Don’t worry, they give you plenty of carrots so you can feed every alpaca that will happy run up to greet you. Be sure to check their website for available dates to visit as they change seasonally.

Although there is no admission charge on “open days,” donations are accepted and much appreciated.

The alpacas have their own personalities and quirks. Be sure to say hi to Princess Leia, Zela, Miss Sera, Sebastian, Oliver and more. The staff knows all about them so be sure to talk to them if you have any questions!

Some alpacas are good at taking selfies too!

NJIB TIP: Twice a year, in the Fall they have special events, National Alpaca Farm Day in September and the Holiday Photo Shoots later in the fall. On both of these special days, visitors are allowed into the paddocks with the female alpacas.

Before leaving be sure to check out their shop! Alpaca fleece is very soft and warm, and makes wonderful sweaters, capes, hats, scarves, and other luxurious items which are available for purchase.

For more information on Jersey Shore Alpacas be sure to visit their Website, Facebook, and Instagram.
