Reeves-Reed Arboretum, in collaboration with the Grand Summit Hotel, presents Off the Plate… and onto the walls of the Hat Tavern – an exhibition of original fine art photography by noted artist Jim Smith. Although the art has been installed and is currently on display, the show officially opens to the public with an artist’s reception, Thursday evening, August 6, from 6 to 8 pm.

Off the Plate represents a delicious collection of the haunting beauty of everyday foods, photographed in mouth watering style by the artist. Smith, known for his “painterly” approach to photography, provides the viewer with an ‘Old Masters’ museum-like technique to his extraordinary still lifes of food, flowers, and various everyday props that serve as objet d’art, creating a compelling visual narrative.
