Jersey Artist Registry: Exhibition #1, Closing Reception Feb 21

unnamed

Official Press Release:

Time is running out for you to see The Jersey Artist Registry: Exhibition #1. Although Registry is online art gallery created by Ellen Martin to show off the talent of New Jersey visual artists, Ellen had forged a relationship with Ryan Jimenez, the GM of the Tides and asked him if she could have a show at the Hotel. Ryan offered her the mid-January to mid-February time slot and they were off and running.

Says Martin, “I saw a need for an online art gallery for New Jersey artists that wasn’t buried in another site and that allowed for a decent representation of their work. The target audience for the site is gallery owners, interior designers and collectors. It’s a very visual site and easy to use. You see it, you like it, you contact the artist directly, and you buy it. We had a fun-filled opening reception and I hope everyone can make the closing. This show is also a good learning experience for viewers because of the many styles and media represented.”

The Closing Reception will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 from 5:00 – midnight at the Hotel Tides. Everyone is welcome to this free event, where there will be a cash bar. Free parking is available on the streets. The Hotel Tides is located at 408 Seventh Avenue in Asbury Park, NJ, 732-897-7744, and opens at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

Thirty-nine works from 16 artists are included in this eclectic show including painting, black and white photography, color photography, mixed media work and sculpture. In styles and genres, it ranges from Outsider to Insider, Traditional to Abstract, and Emerging to Established.

Work from painters Dawn DiCicco, Erica Geralds, Michael Hanna, Patricia Hutchinson, Brian Jones, Zeet Peabody, John Roff, Karen Starrett and Ellen Martin; photographers Marilyn Baldi, Marlo Montanaro, Joan Myers, Kevin Hinkle and Colin Seitz; and sculptors Andrew Pawlan and Amy Puccio are on display. Many are award-winning artists.
