Date Night at Publick House in Mountainside

I’m a big fan of date night.  I know it’s tough, schedules, jobs, kids, etc, but I do try to go out with my wife when we can.  For date night we like fun times and great food.  One of our favorite spots is Publick House in Mountainside.  Food is inventive and seasonal, beer and drinks are great, and it’s all around good times.

First things first.  Publick House has a great beer list.  Craft beers, and everyone there knows their stuff.  I was recommended away from a beer because of my tastes. I was not disappointed.  Wine list is also plentiful, and well thought out.

We did have clams for an appetizer, a fun dish with orange and spices. Sadly (for you) we consumed it way too fast to take a picture. For dinner, my wife had the hanger steak with truffle fries. I’m pretty sure the picture speaks for itself. Perfectly cooked steak and crispy fries. Yes please!

I chose the Shepard’s pie, with chunks of lamb and veggies, and quite possibly the butteriest mashed potatoes I’ve had.  It. Was. Amazing.

People I would take here: Dates, dates, dates, it’s really great for it.  Also business

Frequency of return: Once a month, they change the menu often for the seasons!
