Diner Round Up – Silver Diner in Cherry Hill

The Silver Diner in Cherry Hill is a diner I have passed many times while driving into Philadelphia but have never had the chance to go to. Well, because I am somewhat of a diner connoisseur, I was personally invited to the Silver Diner to review it. How nice is that?

One of the things I loved about the diner right off the back was how they partner with local farmers for their food. That is great for the economy and shows how they value their fresh food. They are also very hospitable when it comes to their customers. They have lots of vegetarian, vegan, gluten- free etc options and substitutions. That gives them a big “thumbs up” in my book.

Another thing I loved? This jukebox right on the table. Amazing.

They have a pretty big menu so I decided to try a little bit of everything. They also have a lot of items on the menu that focus on healthy and heart options, which is something that I personally am also focusing on in my life.

I decided to start with a Hibiscus Lemonade which was on their Summer menu. It was sweet and delicious…and pretty to look at too!

I also decided to start with a local Kale & Bleu Cheese Salad. It was a beautiful and tasty salad that had farro, carrots, cranberries, citrus champagne vinaigrette, and apple slices. It tasted like Summer! Look how pretty it was:

For my entree I decided to get the Pesto Burger, but decided to swap out the beef patty with a veggie patty instead (they were very accommodating). I am a lover of anything pesto, so this burger really hit the spot. In addition to the pesto, the burger contained (local) goat cheese and roasted red pepper. On the side? Sweet potato fries! Fantastic!

My friend ordered the “Hickory Smokehouse Cheddar Burger” which was BBQ sauce, cheddar, cholula onions, cremini mushrooms, and nitrate-free bacon. As you can tell from this photo, it was delicious:

We were too full for dessert but everyone kept telling us how amazing their desserts were…so we caved! We got a “Peanut Butter and Pretzel” sundae which is new to the menu. Hanover PA pretzel bites, peanut butter, salted caramel vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, maple cinnamon and a cherry on top. It was more than enough for the 2 of us.

I also wanted to give a shout out to the manager,Jose and the head chef, Fred. Both men were lovely and made our diner experience very enjoyable.

Overall, it was a great diner experience and the next time I’m in the area I would love to come back. The food was fun, fresh and delicious and the ambiance was a classic diner feel. I would definitely recommend it!
