Diner Round Up – Route 1 Diner in Lawrenceville

photo 1

The Route 1 Diner, formally known as the Crystal Diner, is located in Lawrenceville on Route 1 – hence the name.

My friends and I wandered there after a trip to Trenton since it was nearby and we were very hungry.

The diner itself is on the smaller side, but I really dug it. One of my favorite things about the diner are their booth seats. They have the classic red and yellow sparkly 50s style diner seats. Very cool!

I don’t have a picture, but my friend ordered mozzarella sticks (which I convinced him to share) and it was one of the best mozzarella sticks I’ve ever had. For real.

Their menu options were really great and this might be the most affordable diner I’ve been to so far.

I decided to order a chicken cheesesteak and they let me swap out fries for mashed potatoes. I was jealous when my friend’s fries came because they were steak fries, which are my second favorite kind of fries. Oh well. My sandwich was really good – it was very filling and it was delicious. My mashed potatoes were also very good as well.

This diner is hiding on Business Route 1 but I really recommend it if you’re in the area! I was very pleased with my meal and overall experience! It even inspired this Instagram picture:
