Brewery Review: Little Dog Brewing Co in Neptune City
I’ve been visiting more and more breweries lately (my goal is to visit all of them!) and my latest review is for Little Dog Brewing Company located in Neptune City.
The brewery is fairly new, but they’re definitely building a local interest! We were there for a 2pm tour and the place was packed!
If you get the chance to visit Little Dog, I highly suggest you sign up for a tour. The tour is led by Gretchen Schmidhausler, the owner and brewer. She knows her stuff! Before she started Little Dog Brewing Co, she was the Brewmaster for Basil T’s Brewery & Italian Grill in Red Bank. She is also the VP of the NY Division of the Master Brewers Association of the Americas. She’s very personable and will answer any questions you have about the beer making process.
The tour itself costs $5 and includes tastings of 4 beers. They only had 4 on tap, so I decided to do a flight so I could try all of them. Here is a list of what they are currently offering:
(DuckBoy Pale Ale, Gesundheit Albier, Janet’s Favorite Porter and His Nibs Licorice Brown Ale)

If you’re looking to take something home to remember the experience, they have t-shirts for sale and two different size growlers. We went home with a growler filled of the “His Nibs” which was drank at home fairly quickly.
Definitely looking forward to going back and seeing this little brewery expand!
