A Lunch Date* at Costa Verde in South Amboy
Earlier this week, I was disappointed by an outing at a Portuguese restaurant who will not be named so to make up for it I went to a restaurant which has an excellent reputation: Costa Verde.
Costa Verde is a place I pass every day, hear great things about, and I had never been there before. Things needed to change!
My friend and I decided to go there on our way back from a very eventful shopping trip, and we were very hungry. I think I talked about bread the entire way to the restaurant, so I was very happy when the bread was delivered to the table immediately.
We both decided to get paella, which we easily could have shared. I had enough left over for two more meals. The paella was delicious! Lobster, scallops, shrimp, mussels, clams…and plenty of it! SO good! The prices were so reasonable too, I definitely got my moneys worth of food.
If you love Portuguese food, I highly recommend it. I’m so glad I finally went there! It’s a very nice restaurant perfect for any occasion.
*This wasn’t a date date.
People I would take here: Friends, business clients, date night. They have a big bar if you’re just looking for a night out!
Frequency of return: Whenever! I’m a local and I pass it EVERY DAY on my way home from work.
