Working from a Coffee Shop: Blue Hippo Cafe in Verona
Located in downtown Verona sits a “hip” coffee shop called the Blue Hippo Cafe.
This spacious cafe started as an idea, then a bicycle cart, and is now a popular spot on Bloomfield Ave. Blue Hippo Cafe is known for their high quality fair trade coffee, alongside a menu created from fresh, healthy, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.
Their coffee menu consists of your classic favorites like Iced Coffee, Macchiatos, Cappucinos, Lattes, Espresso, Tea etc. They also have lemonade! They use Intelligentsia Coffee, an American company that sources coffee and tea from around the world.
For warmer weather they have now introduced “Hippochinos” which look amazing!

Beverage #1 – Iced Latte Made with a Blueberry Flavor and Oat Milk
I have never had a blueberry latte or oat milk…so this was delightful. I also nursed this drink probably for an hour because I wanted it to last.
They also have a great selection for breakfast and lunch. Their fresh baked doughnuts are made to order right in front of you! While I was working I couldn’t help but inhale the smell of these donuts since I was sitting right in front of them.
They also have toasts, including a toast flight (seen below), sandwiches, quiche, salads, croissants, muffins etc.

Beverage #2 – Tumeric Tonic Tea
Knowing it was 2PM I did not want caffeine, so I got this decaf tea. It had a nice spice to it which I liked.
Overall this is a cute coffee shop that was very nice to work out of. They also have events throughout the year, including story time for the kids!
