Vineyard Review: Wagonhouse Winery

I recently got to visit Wagonhouse Winery in Swedesboro, NJ for some wine tasting. I have had their wine before, but I had never been to their actual vineyard before. I will admit that when I visited I had a LivingSocial coupon (it was $19 for two people, wine classes, cheese, crackers, chocolate, and a winery coaster…good deal!!). Definitely research that deal before you go!

Anyway…

The vineyard itself it beautiful and very homey! It’s family owned and operated so the people that work there really know their stuff. It has a great wine bar, tables, and couches for people to relax and enjoy wine.

They also have a table shuffle board which was pretty cool!

The wine tasting itself was fantastic. We got to try 20(!) different wines, starting from white then to red, and of course my favorite…the sweet wines. This was my first of twenty samples:

The cheese and cracker plate along with some chocolate was a great touch with the wine. Definitely eat the chocolate with your sweet wines!

They have a lot of great wines, but my favorites were their Chardonnay, 1401 (Red blend), Shore Thing, Sundance, Sweet Love, and the Autumn Goddess which is Seasonal.

The Sweet Love was a mix of blueberry and pomegranates which was very sweet. Shore Thing was one of my favorites because it reminded me of Summer, it tastes like mango and peach.

Another wine worth mentioning is the “Kick in the Glass” which was definitely the most unique wine I’ve ever tasted. It’s a TOMATO wine with red pepper. We were told it was good for cooking with. To me, it was a new take on a Bloody Mary. Very interesting…

We ended up purchasing the 1401 and and the Sundance, which is a sweet wine that tastes like peach pie. Basically, it tastes like juice so you need to be careful you don’t drink the whole bottle yourself.

Overall, I loved the experience of going to this winery. We were there for about an hour and it was relaxing, enjoyable and the wine was great! Definitely visit!

If you have a NJ wine passport don’t forget to get it stamped!
