Touring Asbury Park One Bite at a Time

Asbury Park has SO many great restaurants, and each year the Chamber of Commerce hosts the Asbury Park Restaurant Tour  so you can try as many as you can in four hours. Your mission is come hungry and leave happy.

I attended the 8th annual event on April 28th, 2019. There were 28 restaurants spread out from downtown, to the boardwalk, Main st, and the west side of Asbury Park. Not only was that Sunday delicious, but I definitely hit my step goal for the day.

I sadly was unable to squeeze in all 28 restaurants due to getting distracted by the Asbury Park Wiener Walk which took place the same day, but here are the places that I did get to visit:

The Bonney Read (533 Cookman Ave)

Confections of a Rock$tar (550 Cookman Ave)

Lola’s European Cafe (539 Cookman Ave)

Modine (601 Mattison Ave)

Mogo (632 Cookman Ave)

Proven Poke (644 Cookman Ave)

TAKA (660 Cookman Ave)

Twisted Tree Cafe (609 Cookman Ave)

Vintage Subs (729 Bangs Ave)

Anchor’s Bend, Asbury Oyster Bar, and Betty’s Ice Box (Convention Hall, 1300 Ocean Ave)

Kim Marie’s Drink Away (1411 Kingsley St)

Playa Bowls (1200 Ocean Ave + 701 Cookman Ave)

Ada’s Gojjo (1301 Memorial Dr)

Brando’s (162 Main St)

Cielito Lindo (1206 Main St)

CRYo2 (1317 Memorial Dr)

Johnny Mac’s (208 Main St)

Juice Basin (805 4th Ave)

Mark’s Place (621 Main St)

Coming Soon! Tower Dogs on Ocean Ave. We got to check out their food truck while we wait for them to open.

23/28 is not bad! Other restaurants featured on the tour we sadly missed were Food Lube, Sweet Dani B, Kula Cafe, Kula Farm, and Sami’s Mediterranean Street Food.

Highlights for me personally included the various tacos from Mogo and Anchor’s Bend, pizza at Johnny Mac’s, authentic Mexican food at Cielito Lindo, and vegan cookie dough from Betty’s Ice Box.

Mad you missed this event? Well, I told you about it! Be sure to click here for all NJ Foodie Events.
