A Diner Review Re-Do: The Seville Diner in East Brunswick, NJ

Originally reviewed in April of 2014, which was my first month of reviewing diners for New Jersey Isn’t Boring, the Seville Diner in East Brunswick is the diner I most often frequent and was in desperate need of a new feature.

Located on Route 18 close to the Brunswick Square Mall, the Seville Diner is a family owned and operated diner that has been around for a while.

Things stand out on their menu include:
– Bananas Foster French Toast, Brown sugar, butter & bananas sautéed and served over challah French toast
– Seville McMuffin, Egg, cheese & Canadian baconon English muffin
– The Ocean City Benedict which comes with crab cakes (my mother in law’s favorite)
– Homemade Hummus
– Fresh Roasted Beet Salad, with crumbled feta & chopped walnut sover spring mix and vinaigrette dressing
– Bubbe’s Favorite, turkey, Pastrami, Russian dressing, cole slaw and melted Swiss cheese, served on rye
– The Meshugenah, Turkey and Corned Beefwith Russian dressing on toasted bagel
– Mac n’ CheeseBurger, topped with homemade mac n’ cheese a hard roll
– C.B.L.T., Bacon, lettuce & tomato with chipotle mayo
– Aunt Connie’s Greek Spinach Pie
– “Pastabilities” including Mom’s Homemade Baked Lasagna
– Mom’s Broiled Pork Chops
– Honey Dipped Fried Chicken
– Scrod Mykonos, sautéed onions, tomatoes, capers, lemon, white wine and extra virgin olive oil

Typically I dine in at the Seville Diner, but I decided to switch and up and do take out so I could spend some time at home.

I called them up and ordered their chicken fingers, one of the best chicken fingers in New Jersey, which comes with fries and onion rings.

The meal includes a choice of soup, so I got Aunt Zelda’s homemade matzoh ball soup which I typically pick up from there when I’m not feeling well.

And finally, dessert! The diner does all their baking on premises and has some amazing desserts.

My favorite of all time is their Mousse Mouse! It’s a layered chocolate mousse dessert with a mouse made out of mousse on top.

It’s delicious. And meant to be shared.

I’ve never had a bad meal or bad service at this diner, which I’ve visited for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the last 8 years I’ve lived in the area. I highly recommend it.
