Oh hello, October! We are now in the thralls of Fall (it rhymes) and there is plenty of activities to celebrate the new month. Oktoberfests IN October? We’re here for it. Here are my Top Ten Events for October 1st – 3rd, 2021.

Olde Time Itatlian Festival
October 1 & 2

The 15th anniversary! Come experience an ‘Olde World’ family festival including a Procession of the Saints, delicious Italian food favorites, merchandise vendors, games, and continuous FREE live entertainment. A spaghetti eating contest will take place as well. SPECIAL for the 15th Anniversary Celebration, the Skyliners will perform Friday night and Bobby Rydell will perform Saturday night!

Exit Zero Jazz Festival
October 1 – 3

Headliners include CHRIS BOTTI, DEE DEE BRIDGEWATER, TERENCE BLANCHARD’S E-COLLECTIVE + TURTLE ISLAND QUARTET, PAQUITO D’RIVERA QUINTET, KENNY GARRETT QUINTET, JAZZMEIA HORN and many more. International touring artists perform on 2 outdoor stages on the grounds of the Exit Zero Ferry Park, located at the Cape May Ferry Terminal. Music at Exit Zero Ferry Park runs from 11am-7pm each Festival day, October 1, October 2, and October 3. The Cape May Convention Hall Beach Stage will host many genres of music on both October 2 and October 3, and there will be a limited in-door schedule in bars/restaurants of Cape May each night of the Festival. You might find yourself one minute second-lining to a New Orleans brass band, and, in the next, snaking through town behind a 22-piece Brazilian drum bloco. The joy of the Exit Zero Jazz Festival is in the discovery of incredible music and musicians you may never have known existed.

Asbury Park Zombie Walk
October 2
The Asbury Park Zombie Walk is celebrating it’s 13 year anniversary! The NJZW took has set the Guinness World Record for the “Largest gathering of zombies” two separate times. In 2010 the record was claimed with 4,093 undead counted on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. The record was later reclaimed in 2013 with 9,592 participants. Annual Asbury Park Zombie Walk holds the record for the World’s largest gathering of Zombies! Enjoy festivities & music taking place downtown & along the boardwalk.

Fall Food Truck and Craft Festival
October 2, 11AM – 5PM
The Gloucester Township Campus of Camden County Technical Schools will be sponsoring a Food Truck and Craft Fair Fall Festival on Saturday, October 2nd. All are invited to attend this family-friendly event. FREE admission and parking.  There will be assorted food trucks; crafters & artisans; games and prizes for children; scarecrows, pumpkins, and mums for sale; pumpkin painting and sand art; raffle baskets, live music, and more. Laurita OktoberFest

Food and wine lovers will converge at Laurita Winery in New Egypt for a Laurita Winery Gourmet Food Trucks and Fire Works weekend. Experience the trending Gourmet Food Truck offerings while sipping on wine and enjoying a seat to watch the Fire Works! Live music and good friends will make this day special!

Manville Food Truck & Music Bash
October 2, 11AM – 7PM
Come out & help support this community that was ravaged by Hurricane Ida. The Trucks are rolling into Manville! Food! Beer! Music! Fun! It’s a fun filled family day! 20 delicious Gourmet Food Trucks, beer, margarita & sangria garden, Live Music, 50/50, axe throwing, kid activities including Pony rides, petting zoo, face painting, knockerball, inflatables, sand art & so much more! A Benefit for The Manville Youth Athletic League.

​​19th Annual Oktoberfest
October 2, 2PM – 9PM
The feel-good spirit of Highlands 19th ANNUAL Oktoberfest is modeled after the traditional Munich, Germany Oktoberfest with an emphasis on eating; drinking and being merry while providing something for everyone. Authentic German food, live music, dancing and other great entertainment will be part of the Annual Oktoberfest celebration taking place in Veterans Park on Bay & Shrewsbury Avenues. The park is festive with fall decorations, the food is great and the varieties of German beers are even better. Authentic German food is a highlight of this famous festival. Executive Chef Butch Greenwaldt is preparing the menu with plenty of traditional German favorites hot off the grill such as bratwurst, knockwurst, kraut, potato pancakes, goulash, sauerbraten, and Bavarian noodles along with another tasty fare those less adventurous.

Historic Smithville’s Oktoberfest

For those in the know, Smithville’s Oktoberfest tradition has become synonymous with great food and family fun.Smithville presents over 100 Juried Crafters, an International Food Court, Music, Kids Activities, non- Profit organizations and more. All of this food and fun in addition to over 60 shoppes, Carousel rides, Train rides, Paddle boats, 7 eateries, and antique arcades that grace the Smithville Village year round!

Chowderfest Free 2-Day Bayfront Festival
October 2 & 3 (Oct 2 11AM – 5PM Oct 3 11AM – 4PM)
Celebrate with vendors, brews on tap, live music lineup, and ChowderMonth champion announcements in Beach Haven! The Festival will be a non-tasting event.

Cranberry Fest

This two day event features over 150 crafters, artists and vendors offering hand made, vintage and upcycled items for the heart and home! One of the oldest and largest juried craft shows in NJ. “Craft” beer garden and food court, plus live music throughout both days
