Human Village Brewing Co. to Become Pitman’s Newest Landmark on Nov. 18
Human Village Brewing Company is set to be the South Jersey craft beer scene’s hotly anticipated debutant with their grand opening on November 18th. Opening in Pitman (148 S Broadway, Pitman NJ), New Jersey the brewery takes the location of the iconic Bus Stop Music Café and adds to Pitman’s many offerings of shops and restaurants as well as the beautifully restored Broadway Theater. The artisan nano-brewery is the brainchild of Emily Barnes and Megan Myers and will be Gloucester County’s first woman-owned brewery.
The opening tap list features an offering of European beer styles brewed with traditional methods as well as innovative specialties featuring local South Jersey ingredients. The Beers and the Bees, a golden ale, is brewed with Anthony’s Local Honey. “You can still smell the wildflowers from the first sip” says Barnes. “There is something so delicious about a beer that is balanced just right and lets the ingredients speak for themselves” says Myers.
The brewery will offer tours and tastings, as well as growler fills. Brewery openings like the Human Village Brewing Company elevate the New Jersey beer scene as a whole. Recent legislation passed in 2013 simplified the process and gave a clearer path for craft breweries to open and a needed boost the craft beer industry. Craft beer production currently accounts for an economic impact of over $1.2 billion in New Jersey and growing.
