Annual ‘Lake Loop’ to Support Lake Hopatcong Set for Oct. 2

The tenth annual ‘Lake Hopatcong Lake Loop’ bike, run, paddle challenge to benefit the Lake Hopatcong Foundation will be held on Sunday, October 2nd, 2022, at Hopatcong State Park. The event, hosted by the Lake Hopatcong Foundation along with partners Cycle Craft, Ramsey Outdoor, and Live the Lake NJ, celebrates New Jersey’s largest lake as a recreational resource and raises funds to help keep it clean, healthy, and safe.

Participants can choose from a 62-, 40-, or 20-mile bike ride along roads around and north of the lake; a 2.5-mile marked kayaking course; or a 5K trail run/walk along the trails in the State Park. Included with registration is a t-shirt or finisher’s medal, lunch, live music, and, for participants 21+, a cold beer at the finish line.

“We’re excited to be back in person on and around our beautiful lake again this year,” said Lake Hopatcong Foundation Development Director Caitlin Doran. “We had fun taking Lake Loop virtual for the last two years, but you really can’t beat a day getting active and coming together lakeside. We’re so grateful to Cycle Craft, Ramsey Outdoor, and Live the Lake NJ for their recreational and event expertise to help make this Lake Loop one of the best yet!”

All registrants will be entered in a drawing for a Ramsey Outdoor $100 gift card just for signing up. Participants who go the extra mile and raise funds for a vibrant and healthy Lake Hopatcong have a chance to win additional prizes, like a new bike and a cruise on the lake.

“It’s a great opportunity to grab your bike, kayak, or running shoes in support of cleaner water, better safety, more lake education, and a stronger Lake Hopatcong community,” said Lake Hopatcong Foundation Executive Director Kyle Richter.
