NJ Diner Review #288: The Town and Country Diner in Toms River
During my last visit to Toms River, my friend Hollie (blogger FueledbyLOLZ and lover of NJ diners) and I discovered a diner we had never heard of before…the Town and Country Diner & Restaurant. So it became the next diner we were going to visit together!
This cozy diner located on Route 37 was PACKED on a Thursday afternoon which is always a good sign.
The diner has your classic diner options. Not too much stood out other than some interesting omelettes and breakfast specials (Philly Cheesesteak omelette, stuffed French Toast, Creamed Chipped Beef) and their “Pittsburgh Breakfast” which include 3 eggs with protein like steak or ham.
They were offering some great lunch specials that day so of course I had to get one. I started my meal with a soup and drink, and was happy they had split pea since it’s one of my top diner soup options.
It was delicious.
I also got a hot tea since it was pretty chilly that day. Hollie stuck with her usual order, a decaf coffee with whipped cream.
For my main meal option I got a chicken gyro with a side of mashed potatoes instead of French fries.
I was very happy with my very filling sandwich and the mashed potatoes were also very good.
Overall a good time at this diner and a nice hot meal. After this diner I only have one left in Ocean County! Crazy!
