Fall is right around the corner…but for now let’s celebrate the last official weekend of Summer. From FREE family events, Foodie Events like the Belmar Feast of San Gennaro, Music Festivals and more…there is PLENTY to to do this weekend! Here are my picks for the Top Ten New Jersey Events for September 14th – 16th, 2018.

Top Ten New Jersey Events for September 14th – 16th, 2018:
Boots at the Beach Festival
Boots at the Beach Festival is a year event held two weekends after Labor Day Weekend, and is the largest country festival around. Plenty of country vendors, crafts, wares, and live country bands will be on display for the whole family. This event is presented by the Anglesea Irish Society, and is a unique event that you will not find anywhere else.

Festival of the Sea
The grandest of Seafood Festivals is finally back, and ready to Celebrate 40 great years of great seafood events. There will be live music, games, free shuttle, wine garden, family activities, and over 200 vendors for your family to enjoy. Some of the best and brightest Point Pleasant Beach area restaurants will be present and selling their food. This is a fantastic family friendly event that is something no one should miss out on.

Ort Farms Food Truck Festival
Long Valley and beyond, GET READY! The Just Jersey Fest is rolling into ORT FARMS! This is no ordinary food truck festival! Bring your friends, relatives, colleagues and definitely your KIDS!!! 15 Food Trucks, Beer & Sangria Garden, face painting, DJ & plenty of farm activities including a corn maze and pumpkin picking!

Annual All About Downtown Street Fair
The Annual All About Downtown Street Fair is finally here for the seventh time, but this year there will be over 250 vendors and live music. There will be a shuttle to escort families back and forth to the venue so there is no reason to miss out. Along with all the fun for adults,the kid’s area will be packed with rides, face painting, games and shops for all little ones. As the usual tradition,the Fair will end with an amazing Grassroots Drum Parade.

The Makers Festival
On September 15th 2018, The MakeShift Union is hosting the 4th Annual Makers Festival at Manahawkin Lake Park in Manahawkin NJ. The mission of the festival is to highlight the underground current of Makers who are changing the landscape of production & consumerism in America, and more specifically, Ocean County where we live, work & play. It will be a day to celebrate the collective artistic endeavors of homegrown talent locally & beyond, and will feature over ten dozen Makers whose crafts include everything from handmade & vintage fashion, sculpting & woodworking, photography & fine art, craft beer, food and music.

Belmar Feast of San Gennaro
The festival will feature authentic Italian foods, live entertainment, dancing and more! The festivities kick off on Saturday with a Mass celebrated in Italian at St. Rose Church in Belmar, followed by the traditional procession of the Statue of San Gennaro to its place of honor on Main Street. Visitors will can enjoy Italian treats, Beer & Wine tent, eating contests, crafters, kids activities, and dancing in the street.

A Video Game Con 2018
A Video Game Con (AVGC) is New Jersey’s premier annual gaming convention dedicated to all aspects of video game culture. AVGC was formed by gamers and is a celebrations for the passion of video games and other geek culture. This upcoming event will be AVGC’s fourth show and is looking to surpass it’s 2017 attendance record of 2500+ attendees. AVGC 2018 will be located at it’s new location, the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Seacaucus, NJ, September 15th and 16th. This will be two days of packed scheduled events, including panels, workshops, gaming tournaments, live music, and cosplay. There will be a large market place willed with collectibles, rare game items and hand crafted products. AVGC has expanded it’s free console, arcade, and VR area, designed to showcase classic hits, experiences interactive game play and browser through a curated gaming library for all attendees to enjoy during the event.

Valenzano WineFest
One of New Jersey’s favorite wine and music festival is ramping up for its 16th year. The event includes wine Tasting from 10 of NJ’s favorite wineries, 4 stages of music & entertainment, over 70 local crafters and vendors, pony rides and kids concert, endless food options from local restaurants, and much more.

Bergen County Food & Wine Festival
Bergen County’s only community celebration of food and wine is coming to a tented area of Garden State Plaza’s parking lot this September. The Food & Wine Festival will be put on by, and benefit, The 200 Club of Bergen County, with presenting sponsor Inserra Supermarkets Inc.!
Day 1: (Sept 15): Burgers and Brews: A burger competition between some of Bergen County’s best chefs and restaurants, paired with great local and craft beers, wines and spirits.
Day 2: (Sept 16): Tasting Village: A wide array of Bergen County’s restaurants will showcase their best dishes while you once again pair the cuisine with great local and craft beers, wines and spirits samplings

Sussex County Day
Two jam packed family fun events are coming together for one great community festival. The combined event beginning at noon is will be presented by the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce and features an exciting list of events such as: a grilling competition, Sussex County Idol singing contest, vendors, exhibitors, crafts, a classic car show, and free barbeque sampling (while supplies last). There will also be some incredible kid friendly events, especially the obstacle course presented by the Sussex County YMCA, Pie in the Face contest, and family scavenger hunt event.. Also included, TransOptions will be giving out free children’s bike helmets (while supplies last), there will be a fruit pie baking contest open to home bakers, and families are encouraged to participate for the egg toss event. Plenty more events have yet to be announced, so make sure your family comes out and partakes in all the fun.
