What’s a better way to kick off Fall then a Wine Festival in New Jersey! There are lots of great events going on in September throughout the state, including events that are fun for the whole family and even some that are free.

Sips and Sounds at Terhune Orchards
Come for Terhune wine, light fare, relaxing music and friend-filled evenings every Friday this summer from 5 to 8 pm at Terhune Orchards Vineyard and Winery. Grab a glass of one of our award-winning wines, sit back, relax, and enjoy live music from local artists each week. Styles range from Jazz and Blues to Folk and Rock. Wine and light fare including cheese platters and chips and homemade salsa are available. It’s the perfect way to kick off your weekend! Rain or shine event, no admission fee. Individual glasses of wine can be purchased. Families are welcome. Please, no outside food.

Barefoot Grape Stomping at Four Sisters Winery
It’s Stomping Time! Yes, it’s Barefoot Grape Stomping. A bit of nostalgia, a tasting of wine, something to do with friends for a special time! Formal wine tasting, Italian spaghetti with meatballs, garden salad, bread, dessert, coffee, tea and sweet tea. An educational wine cellar tour describes the processes of wine making and then off with the shoes and socks for the ever-popular Barefoot Grape Stomping. Valenzano WineFest
One of New Jersey’s favorite wine and music festival is ramping up for its 16th year. The event includes wine Tasting from 10 of NJ’s favorite wineries, 4 stages of music & entertainment, over 70 local crafters and vendors, pony rides and kids concert, endless food options from local restaurants, and much more.

Bergen County Food & Wine Festival
Bergen County’s only community celebration of food and wine is coming to a tented area of Garden State Plaza’s parking lot this September. The Food & Wine Festival will be put on by, and benefit, The 200 Club of Bergen County, with presenting sponsor Inserra Supermarkets Inc.!

Day 1: (Sept 15): Burgers and Brews: A burger competition between some of Bergen County’s best chefs and restaurants, paired with great local and craft beers, wines and spirits.

Blessing of the Grapes at Laurita Winery
Come join in giving thanks for the harvest of the grapes and enjoying the fruits of its bounty. Laurita invites all to enjoy live music, award winning wines and wonderful food from our Marketplace. Starting at 1:00pm, Father John Morley of Seton Hall University will be officiating at the Blessing of the Grapes. Each guest present will receive a prayer card imprinted with the iconic images of the Saints Isidore and his wife Maria.

Presented by the Mays Landing Merchants Association, the 8th Annual South Jersey Wine and Food Festival is returning to serene Lake Lenape Park East in Mays Landing, on Saturday, September 22nd and Sunday, September 23rd from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Come out to meet some of South Jersey’s best winemakers and culinary personalities and sample their delicious creations! Murder Mystery Dinner at Four Sisters Winery
It’s not a typical who done it….It’s the guests in the audience that create a witty, weaving story line. As the plot thickens, the victim falls prey and the detectives investigate with deductive reasoning to reveal the murderer. Formal wine tasting, buffet style dinner of salad, pasta dinner with meatballs bread and dessert. Dessert wines will be served back in the winery after an educational tour of the wine cellar.

5th Annual Uncorked & Uncapped: Wine, Beer, and Food Fest
The Arc of Essex County will host the 5th Annual Uncorked and Uncapped: Wine, Beer, and Food Fest on September 27th at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange, NJ. All proceeds will benefit The Arc’s programs and services that support individuals with Down syndrome, Autism, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families. Attendees will enjoy a wide selection of fine wines, craft beers, spirit tastings, restaurant samplings, an awards program, and a silent auction while supporting The Arc of Essex County. Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased through the event website, www.uncorkedanduncapped.com. The Arc of Essex County is the largest service provider to individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Essex County, New Jersey. The Arc is committed to fostering achievement through programs, services, and supports that ignite a positive, fulfilling, and rewarding quality of life.
