It’s a full weekend of fairs and festivals from the return of the Middlesex County Fair and the Salem County Fair, the Highlands Clam Festival is a free event you can’t miss, and it’s officially peach season at the Peachy Festival at Terhune Orchards. Here are my top ten events for August 6 – 8, 2021.

Warren County Farmers’ Fair, featuring the Hot Air Balloon Festival
Now – August 7

New to the Warren County Farmers’ Fair? In addition to reasonable admission rates, free parking, a free children’s activity area and affordable food, the Fair also incorporates a Hot Air Balloon Festival with mass launches, every evening at 6:30 pm (weather permitting).

Salem County Fair
Now – August 6

This old-fashioned country fair will feature livestock shows, skill-based games, and a large farm machinery display. Savor the delicious BBQ dinner offered nightly or try some of the other food vendors.

Cost: Free, parking $10 per vehicle for the week.

Middlesex County Fair
Now – August 8

The annual fair, held the first full week of August each year on the Middlesex County Fairgrounds in East Brunswick, N.J., attracts more than 85,000 visitors of all ages from across the New York metropolitan area each year. Through its operation of the fair, the association donates thousands of dollars to local high schools, first responders, and charities that serve its mission. Atlantic County 4-H Fair
August 6 and 7

The public is invited to enjoy the 4-H projects and demonstrations during the upcoming Atlantic County 4-H Fair, August 6 -8, that highlight the variety of “maker” activities they engage in all year round. Projects in the main building include all the “traditional” 4-H projects like baking, preserving, arts & crafts, and fine arts but also robotics, STEM, and model railroad – all very much a part of the maker movement. Throughout the fairgrounds, examples are found in the small engines, composting, and other projects. See and interact with animals, watch shows, demonstrations, and musical acts, and look forward to the amusement rides.

Highlands Annual Clam Fest
August 6 – 8

Food and Music lovers will fill the streets at the Highlands Business Partnership’s 26th Annual Clam Fest from August 6th to August 8th at Huddy Park on Bay & Waterwitch Avenues. The famous Clam Fest is a three-day spectacular event featuring a seafood court serving the freshest food from many local vendors. Other festival favorites include the Lions Club Funnel Cakes, and the Highlands Fire Department BBQ tent. Admission and parking is free, and the event takes place rain or shine. The 26th Annual Clam Fest will feature a Beer, Wine and Sangria Garden on the corner of Waterwitch and Bay Avenues. Specialty vendors will line the street with a variety of items.
Clam Fest hours are 6:00 – 11:00PM on Friday, August 6th, with entertainment by Michael Patrick’s Ring of Fire, at 6:00 PM.

Brigantine Food Truck Festival
August 6 – 8

The Brigantine Beach Food Truck Festival will be taking place at the 38th street beaches in Brigantine Friday, August 6th through Sunday, August 8th, 2021. The show begins at 11am each day and will feature delicious foods from almost 2 dozen of the best food trucks in the tri-state area.

Blueberry Summer Fest Markets: Family Day
August 7, 10AM – 2PM

Blueberry Summer Fest Saturday Markets will run All Blueberry Season Long at Whitesbog! Order a plant, a flat of fresh local blueberries, local blueberry pie in advance. Live music, handmade crafts, and art, blueberry picking all on a smaller scale in the historic farm and village. No entry fee but donations are welcome, No overflow parking so entry will close once we reach capacity.

Von Thun Farms Sunflower Food Fest
August 7, 11AM – 7PM

What says summer in NJ more than a summer food truck festival during sunflower season! This Pay one Price day will alow you to enjoy 13+ gourmet fod trucks, the Sunflower trail, hay rides, local craft vendors, amazing live music and the opportunity to make life long memories! You can buy a combo ticket that includes the Sunflower Trail, or just for the Food Truck Fest,,, no matter what you will have a great day on the farm!

Just Peachy Festival
August 7 & 8, 10AM – 5PM

The weekend will be filled with plenty of activities for kids, pony rides, games and barnyard fun. Kids can enjoy rubber duck races, interactive, hands-on fun in the little tots Farm Store, junior mechanic Shop, Discovery Barn, a scavenger hunt and old-fashioned games. Enjoy live music each day noon-4pm. Everything Peachy Food Tent will offer tasty summer fare. Barn Door Cafe will be scooping up Peach Ice Cream & peachy treats. Adults can enjoy the taste of summer in a glass with our award winning Just Peachy wine, peach wine slush or a flight of our white, red and fruit wines.
