The Chit Chat Diner in Hackensack: Review
Located in Hackensack, the Chit Chat Diner is a chic, upscale diner that is unlike any diner I’ve ever visited. The diner is also opened 24-hours and features a large cocktail menu and late night menu.
From the moment I walked in I was blown away by the cool decor that flows throughout the interior of the diner.
Their diner counter was gorgeous…
and I loved their Chit Chat table cards as well as their super cool glasses.
Their menu includes a lot of things you may not find on a regular menu. Their breakfast menu includes items like a Petit Filet Mignon Benedict, a Chicken Fajita Omelet, Nutella + Bacon French Toast, Carrot Cake Waffles, Arepas, and Smoothies.
Their main menu includes unique items like Pad Thai Chicken Egg Rolls, a Fig + Prosciutto Flat Bread, a “Hakuna-Matata” salad, a Mole Monster Burger, and a Banh Mi Sandwich to name a few.
And that’s barely scraping the surface! Their menu took me a long time to get through.
Because it was Saturday afternoon the Chit Chat Diner features a full brunch menu that comes with a choice of a complementary mimosa, bloody Mary, or Bellini. My husband got the Breakfast Biscuit Sliders which came with homemade potato chips. It looked amazing!
He also choose the mimosa, perfect for brunch!
I got the Cali Sliders (grilled chicken, fresh arugula, avocado & lemon vinaigrette) which were served on Hawaiian slider buns.
The sliders did not come with fries, and since their fries are homemade I was intrigued to try them. The diner has a list of fun fries, so I tried the “Jersey” fries which are your traditional disco fries. The ratio of cheese to gravy was A+.
My friend also got fries, the “Sweet N’ Short” which are sweet potato fries topped shredded short rib & melted provolone cheese, and served with teriyaki dipping.
And don’t get my started on their dessert display…
Overall I was blow away by the food at the Chit Chat Diner. Their menu is a little pricey than your typical NJ diner, but it is definitely quality food!
