The Phily Diner in Runnemede: Review
Looking to get food at all hours of the day in Camden County? Then stop by the Phily Diner, located on Black Horse Pike in Runnemede. This 50’s style diner and sports bar has been around for the last 25 years and is open 24 hours for your convenience.
What other diners have a vintage car sitting outside?
We stopped by the diner late at night after driving home and randomly becoming hungry. The parking lot was packed, but the diner is HUGE so we had no issues getting a table. I really loved the interior of the diner, with it’s 50’s themed lights and chrome which match the outside.
Their menu is very basic diner food – breakfast all day, sandwiches, salads, land and sea entrees, etc. What does stand out is their signature milkshakes and sundaes…so it’s a great dessert spot.
I decided to get a chicken cheesesteak since it’s called the “Phily Diner” (is it pronounced Philly…I don’t know), so I thought it was a safe choice. All the sandwiches came with soup, so I got the chicken vegetable soup which was a MASSIVE hearty portion of soup. It also came with a comically large spoon:
My entree was very good, with lots of fries and one of the biggest pickles I’ve ever seen. I barely finished it since the soup was so much food, so I enjoyed it for dinner the following night.
My friend got chicken fingers…and I was so jealous. Look at how good these look!
And the portion is humongous, I think she got through 1 chicken finger. I tried a piece and it was really, really, really good.
It’s worth noting that the Phily Diner makes all their desserts on premises, and they were very tempting. Too bad we were full.
However I couldn’t resist a free cookie to go.
Overall I enjoyed my experience at this retro feeling diner. It’s a good spot for a late meal, or even a place just to grab a drink!
