Sugarloaf Crafts Festival – Mar 11-13

Who’s ready for the second gift giving season? Weddings, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and graduations are coming up soon! Luckily more than 250 American artisans will personally show and sell their handcrafted work at the 23rd annual Sugarloaf Crafts Festival at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ, Friday, March 11 through Sunday, March 13, 2016. Sugarloaf brings together hundreds of amazingly talented artists from around the nation (as well as local talent) in one place. Visitors get to know the artist entrepreneurs behind the amazing work, who are always happy to chat about their techniques, influences and inspiration. Many artists will even be demonstrating their craft on the show floor. Visitors who work up an appetite during their shopping can indulge their palates with small-batch foods to sample and buy from specialty purveyors. 3rd Annual Guinness Run – March 12

New Jersey Events - Guiness Run

The Highlands Business Partnership will be hosting the 3rd Annual Guinness Run – St. Patrick’s Day Parade Fundraiser.

The race will begin at The Claddagh Irish Pub where contestants will fill their cup and race to Miller St. and back to the finish line at The Claddagh. The runner with the most liquid in their cup at the end of the race will win the Guinness Run! All contestants’ cups will be weighed at the end of the race. Prizes will be awarded! Registered runners will enjoy Guinness and a variety of delicious food provided by The Claddagh.

Runners can register at The Claddagh parking lot beginning at 12:30 pm on Saturday. Runner’s must be 21 and provide ID.

River House Spring Thaw – Mar 12

Whether you are loving the cold or anticipating warmer days, one thing that remains is that new releases are always a reason to celebrate! To kickoff Spring, River Horse is introducing a new beer to their line up that you can enjoy all year long….The River Horse Roly Poly Pils!! Springtime wouldn’t be complete without Farmhouse Saison, so that will be FRESH on tap also to help thaw the chill! Also on draft will be IPA, Tripel Horse, Chocolate Porter, Special Ale, and Hop Hazard. Brewers will be stationed around the building to answer all of your questions, and hint about the exciting things we are bringing you in 2016! Come learn about the brewing process, and what makes lagers, like our Roly Poly Pils, so unique from other beers.

There are connoisseurs of fine wine and connoisseurs of fine art. Visit Vintage North Jersey member wineries on this weekend and you can be a connoisseur of both! Each participating winery will display works of local artists and will offer wine tastings.

Pi Day Princeton – Mar 12-14

Einstein was born on March 14th (3.14) the numeric equivalent of Pi! The town of Princeton celebrates with free activities all over town!Free, fun for all competitions like Pie Eating Contest at McCaffrey’s SuperMarket, Pie Throwing Event on Palmer Square, Pizza Pie Competion at Princeton Pi.Morven Museum and Gardens holds a Surprise Happy Birthday Party for Albert Einstein while NJ Transit holds Dinky Rides with Einstein! Inside the Nassau Inn Princeton William Ballroom, the town is amazed as contestants compete for $314.15 in the popular Einstein Look A Like and Pi Recitation Contests. For older celebrants, guided tours of Einstein’s neighborhood and self guided Grub Crawls/Pub Crawls help everyone celebrate the remarkable coincidence of Princeton’s favorite genius being born on Pi Day!

19th Annual Cranbury Craft Show – Mar 12 & 13

The sleepy historic village of Cranbury awakens to host its 19th Annual Cranbury Craft Show featuring over 100 juried artisans. New crafters will join returning favorites to showcase unique creations of jewelry, silks, ceramics, toys, wood crafts, furniture, florals, glass, clothing, and more. There will be raffles with winners announced hourly, a garden cafe and a kids mural where the littlest creators may leave their mark on this whimsical weekend event. The village of Cranbury itself is a delightful attraction, founded in 1697 with numerous 18th and 19th century houses lining Main Street as you approach the craft show venue, held at the local school. The event organizers take pride in presenting one-of-a-kind and whimsical hand made selections, like a museum gallery where you can walk our with a piece art made in America!The show is sponsored by the Cranbury Education Foundation as a yearly fundraiser for the local school.

Asbury Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Mar 13

On Sunday March 13th, 2016 Asbury Park will be hosting its Third Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade route begins at the Asbury Park Boardwalk on Ocean Ave at 4th Ave and continues southwest towards downtown, ending on Main St in Municipal Plaza.
