New Jersey Diner Review #304: The Maple Valley Diner in Clifton, NJ

Since I’ve checked off 300 diners, I’ve been traveling further to reach my ultimate goal of reviewing every diner in New Jersey. Luckily I have a friend who has a similar goal, Hollie aka FueledbyLOLZ. Together we drove up to Passaic County to visit the Maple Valley Diner in Clifton, NJ.

This a gorgeous clean diner with chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Super classy.

Items that Stood Out on Their Menu:
– Specialty omelettes including a Buffalo Chicken omelette
– Multiple breakfast burritos
– Pancakes made with their own homemade batter, options like Apple Caramel, Oreo, and Monkey business pancakes
– A list of “fancy fries” including pizza fries, buffalo fries, and classic disco fries
– Imported feta cheese (which you can order as a side!)
– Their popular mac and cheese
– A full list of specialty burgers
– LOTS of sandwiches
– Greek, Mexican, and Italian options
– Desserts that will make your mouth water…

Yeah their menu is 13 pages. Good luck narrowing down your favorite choices!

Monday – Friday they offer lunch specials that basically come with everything. If you are going to order a lunch special you need to be hungry since it comes with soup, coffee or tea, entree, and dessert.

My soup choice was chicken and rice which surprisingly did not have rice and was actually chicken noodle. Oh well. It was good and hearty all the same.

I also ordered a tea which was a simple Lipton lemon. Good for a colder, windy day.

And finally for my entree I ordered the chipolte chicken tacos which came with guacamole and rice.

It was really good, but super messy. I kind of had my eye on the tacos before even coming to the diner and I’m glad I saw it through. It was a really good lunch.

Hollie ordered the steak kabob which looked AMAZING.

Finally for dessert we both ordered our own separate Italian rainbow cakes. I rarely order dessert if a diner if I’m feeling full, but this was worth it.

It also came with a warm chocolate sauce on the side making it even better.

I definitely enjoyed my time at the Maple Valley Diner. Great food, great service, and overall a great experience.
