New Jersey Diner Review #299: The Medport Diner in Medford, NJ
Located on Route 70 sits the “new” Medport Diner. In case you haven’t been to the Medport Diner in a while, they have new owners and have completed reinvented this South Jersey diner since 2018.
Generally this is a classic NJ diner menu with a full range of breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, entrees etc.
Items on their Menu that Stood Out:
– a full list of cheese steaks ranging from traditional to names like the “Paparazzi”
– Specialty burgers which include a pastrami burger, reuben burger, and ranch avocado burger
– Sweet and Sour chicken tenders
– Clam Strips
– and 65 different lunch specials
There’s nothing I love more at a NJ Diner than an affordable lunch special, so I went all in. My lunch special came with a drink, soup or salad, and entree. My whole meal cost $11.
I started with a tea, which happened to be local Lacas tea which was a nice touch.
Because it was a colder day, I went with soup. I got something I have never gotten at a diner, a tomato soup! And this tomato soup came with tortellini inside.
I was not expecting this soup to be so hearty and delicious. I definitely didn’t need to eat anything else that afternoon.
Of course I was still expecting an entree…
My chicken cheese steak was GIGANTIC. I barely made it through a quarter of it before deciding to take it home.
I also substituted my fries for oven roasted potatoes which were delicious even though I barely touched them. They also came home with me.
I’m so glad I finally got to visit this diner and arrive there without any negativity going in. The diner was clean, the service was quick, and the food was inexpensive and tasty.
