The Neptune City Diner: Review

Located in a strip mall in Neptune City, sits the Neptune City Diner! This cute little diner is open daily and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner (no dinner on Sundays).

I visited the diner for breakfast right before their breakfast rush started. We dined with first responders getting off their shifts, young families, and individuals heading out to work.

Going in you should know the Neptune City Diner is on the smaller side. So small in fact that during our visit we had one waitress who also worked the cash register and one cook who I believe was also the owner. Although you shouldn’t expect to find a table with a big group, there is a decent amount of seating in such a small space including a small diner counter.

The diner offers all your favorite diner classics. A few items that stood out to be included:
– lot of Greek specials including falafel, moussaka, spanakopita, kabobs and pastachio.
– Texas Weiners, including chili dogs
– a full list of special omelettes included a gyro omelette, pizza omeletta, and the Chicago omelette stuffed with steak, bacon, peppers, onions, cheddar cheese, and salsa
– corned beef hash
– and the Babe Ruth breakfast sandwich which includes pork roll, sausage, bacon, ham, 2 eggs, cheese, and home fries IN a sub roll

Oh, and the Neptune City diner is super cheap.

I started my meal with coffee which was okay, not the best coffee I’ve had at a NJ diner but not the worse.

For breakfast I ordered a turkey bacon and egg sandwich which was only $4 and a side of home fries for $3.

My husband got a breakfast platter which included 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, cheese, and bacon for $7.50.

So we ended up with A LOT of food for a very affordable price, which in my opinion is the beauty of a classic NJ Diner. Overall this was a great visit and a great find in Monmouth County.
