My January in New Jersey
Welcome to 2017! Between the snow, and the cold, and the rain…I made January as eventful as I could! January 1st – On the first day of the year I went to (what else?) a New Jersey Diner! This time I went to check out the Hollywood Sports Bar and Cafe in Woodbury Heights. For more information on my visit, check out my Review.
January 2nd – First book of the new year…”Born to Run” by Bruce Springsteen!
January 3rd – I enjoyed a Girl’s Night Out at Rosalita’s in Marlboro, NJ for all you can eat tacos! It was worth it…
January 7th – Snow Day! What’s more beautiful than the first snow of the year? Stuck inside all day, but it was relaxing.
Of course I don’t exactly enjoy shoveling, driving etc in it, but at least my dogs had fun!
January 10th – $2 bowling? $2 margaritas? $2 tacos? Yes, yes, yes! Fun times at Bowlero in North Brunswick.
January 12th – The NJISNTBORING donut returned to Purple Glaze in Asbury Park, NJ. Exciting!
January 13th – I took a trip to the home of Friday the 13th, Blairstown, New Jersey in Warren County. For more on my full trip, click HERE.
Of course we had to stop by the Blairstown Diner, where they filmed part of the movie at. For a full review on the diner, click HERE.
January 14th – Another snow day!
At least I had this amazing Egg Cream Pie delivered before the snow fell down.
January 15th – I got to check out Icarus Brewing Co in Lakewood which had just opened that weekend. For more on that visit, click HERE
We also went to check out the Brick Diner which is nearby. Review HERE
January 16th – Movie Night! Got to see the amazing film “Moonlight” at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ.
January 20th – Sneak peak at new Halal Guys in Newark which opened the following week. Such amazing food!
For dinner I got to go to the New Monmouth Diner in Middletown, one of my favorite diners in Monmouth County. I love how this photo turned out.
January 21st – I went to the Women’s March in Asbury Park.
It was great to be surrounded by people who believe in human rights.
January 25th – I headed the Westfield, NJ and had a very enjoyable tea tasting at Mulberry House Restaurant. 8 teas pairing with 8 desserts. My kind of night!
January 26th – Hoboken no jokin! I headed to Hoboken, NJ and walked around on a nice, but windy day in Frank Sinatra’s hometown.
There I met up with a friend at had lunch at Charrito’s in downtown. One of the best lunches I’ve ever had!
January 27th – I had a great time Bowling with friends. Bowling is always a good idea! On this particular bowling trip at Knob Hill Country Lanes I scored my best game yet.
January 28th – Had a great time in Burlington County! First stop was at the Fire and Ice Festival in Mount Holly where I saw cool ice sculptures being made:
Afterwards we stopped by the Westampton Family Diner for lunch. (Review posted next month)
And then to downtown Burlington where we sampled delicious craft beer at Third State Brewing!
And since it was Chinese New Year, I indulged in General Tso’s Chicken at Orchid in East Brunswick.
January 29th – 30th – I got to hang out with Wendy the Beagle who is currently up for adopted at Sammy’s Hope in Sayreville.
If you’re looking for a new BFF…be sure to check out your local animal shelter. #adoptdontshop As you can see she got along great with my other dogs!
