Hollywood Cafe & Sports Bar: Review

What do you do on New Years Day for breakfast? Go to a New Jersey diner of course! For the first day of 2017 I visited the Hollywood Cafe and Sports Bar, a 50s style diner located in Woodbury Heights in Gloucester County.

If you love the nostalgia of an old diner, you can find at the Hollywood Cafe. There’s so much kitsch in the diner that there’s plenty for your eyes to take in. You’re ever greeted by Elvis when you walk in the door.

Their menu has typical diner fare ranging from breakfast all day to burgers, sandwiches, salads etc. Their menu is too extensive, so you won’t be overwhelmed with decisions to make. I was actually surprised that they didn’t have any options on the menu that went with a “Hollywood” theme except for the “Hollywood Cheese Burger” which is basically a standard cheeseburger.

What they lack in Hollywood themed menu items they make up for in their decor. We got to sit near a very cool “Casablanca” mural.

And of course the very cool classic car near the opening that is “allergic” to human hands.

Since we were there for breakfast I decided to start the new year by eating something healthy (boring). So I just simply ordered two eggs with a side of tomatoes and dry wheat toast.

It was very good, but it left me envying my husband’s meal of a pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwich with home fries. It looked amazing…

At least they had amazing coffee!

Overall I enjoyed my time at the Hollywood Cafe and Sports Bar, and look forward to stopping by in the future. Say hi to Marilyn for me!
