New Jersey Foodie, Wine, and Beer Events for December 2022:

Winery with Music, Firepits & Mulled Wine
January 7 & 8, 14 & 15, 21  & 22, 28 & 29, 12PM – 5PM

Join for a chance to gather with friends, and family. This winter Terhune Orchards winery will be open Saturdays & Sundays with indoor and outdoor seating. Seasonal hot mulled wine is a wonderful way to warm up. Sample a variety of wines in tasting flights or enjoy wine by the glass. Fire pits will be going all weekend. Bring your glasses and enjoy them fireside. Light fare is available. All ages can enjoy s’more kits and hot cocoa. Families are welcome. No reservations are needed, maximum group of 8 guests.

The Rahway Soup Stroll
January 7, 14, 21, & 28, 1PM – 4PM

Warm up this winter with some delicious soups!
On Saturdays in January (7, 14, 21, & 28) from 1-4pm, bundle up and visit participating restaurants for a taste of their featured soups. Here’s what you do:
– Visit the participating restaurant.
– Ask for a Soup Stroll Sample and receive a FREE 4oz sample of their featured soup.
– Stroll outside to enjoy your soup!
– Take a Souper Selfie at the establishment to submit for the photo contest!
– Stroll to the next participating establishment and repeat!
– Take a SOUPER SELFIE and enter a drawing for one of four $25 Gift Certificates to your favorite participating Rahway Restaurant!
Visit participating restaurants, snap a picture with your soup at that restaurant and post it to your Instagram Feed or Story. Tag @rahwayishappening and the restaurant (if they have an account) and you will be entered into the drawing. (One entry per Instagram account)

January Vinyasa and Vino
January 15, 11AM – 12PM

They say that a glass of red wine every day is healthy for you, but you know what is even healthier? Yoga and then a glass of wine afterwards! Join us for a memorable yoga experience viewing our vineyards followed by a relaxing savasana and of course, wine! Vinyasa and Vino is a monthly yoga program held at the winery starting at 11am. Enjoy a one hour Vinyasa (breath for breath flow) guided by by Joy Torres RYT200. This class is suitable for all levels and is beginner friendly. After the class ends, choose a wine to enjoy and unwind.

Murder Mystery Dinner at Four Sisters Winery
January 15, 1PM – 4PM

This thrillingly epic event, Murder Mystery Dinner at Four Sisters Winery, will be one that you won’t want to miss! Our interactive Murder Mystery Dinner is non-stop amusement from beginning to end. Can you identify the perpetrator? You, your friends, and fellow gumshoes will enjoy equally hilarious and mystifying entertainment. So, take delight where you play a detective to solve this perplexing crime. The characters will definitely have you in stitches and yes, you could be one of the characters! The event starts with a formal wine tasting, followed by a plated dinner of Chicken Parmesan, salad, roasted vegetables, bread, and dessert. The event includes a Four Sisters Winery souvenir wine glass. Keep in mind that this event requires attendance ages 21 and over to attend.

LSC After Dark: Boogie Fever
January 19, 6PM – 10PM

Take it back to the decade of glitz, glam and all things disco! Enjoy mouthwatering bites and delicious cocktails, then get down on the dance floor. Groovy threads aren’t required – but the best dressed may be featured in LSC After Dark’s Disco Hall of Fame. Discover the golden age of space robots, from Mariner 9 to Voyager, in our new planetarium show. Rock out at the Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd laser shows.

Mount Holly Fire & Ice Festival 2023
January 28, 10AM – 4PM

The Mount Holly Fire & Ice Festival & the committee has been planning all year to hold a free family-friendly event, filled with ice carvers lining the streets carving 300 lb blocks of ice into works of art. The fire will be provided by the chili cook off where the area’s best & brightest chefs go head to head and the public gets to take a taste & give their vote. Plus there will be exhibits, vendors, animals, music, plenty of food & adult beverages & a great reason to visit downtown Mount Holly.

Exit Zero Burns Supper
January 28, 5PM – 11PM

The 17th annual Burns Supper honors Robert Burns, the 19th-century Scottish poet (whose birthday is January 25). The dinner includes a Scottish menu, music from Celtic bands, poetry readings, and more. Guests can dine at The Lookout, Ferry Station or The Atrium at the newly revamped Cape May Ferry Terminal. Wassailing the Apple Trees
January 29, 1PM – 4PM

Raise a glass of hot cider with as Terhune Orchards honors the trees that give us their wonderful apples. The ancient British tradition of wassailing the apple trees to protect them from harm is a popular winter celebration at Terhune Orchards that you won’t want to miss. Activities include singing, dancing and playing of primitive instruments, toasts of hot cider, and placing gifts of cider-soaked bread in the tree branches while chanting the lively words of praise and New Year.  There will be festive singing and dancing to ensure the orchards have a good harvest in 2023. Warm yourself next to the bonfire (marshmallow roasting included). The festivities are FREE and open to the public, young and old.
