Bloomfield Center Will Host A Foodie-Filled Adventure on June 26

Bloomfield Center is ready to introduce you to incredible restaurants, both new and old, with a fun, delicious food tour and expanded outdoor dining options. The Bloomfield Center Alliance hosted 3-food tours in 2019 and is excited to be offering tours again in 2021, starting with the Food Tour of Bloomfield Center on June 26.

The food-filled trek will be held on June 26th from 2-4:30PM, starting and ending at Lackawanna Train Station. A lively, experienced guide will lead the tour along with staff from the Bloomfield Center Alliance and provide information on the history of the area alongside updates on events and new developments within Bloomfield Center.

The 2021 Food Tour will feature several restaurants that are new to the area since the 2019 Food Tours and some long-standing favorites!

Highlights of the tour on Saturday, June 26th include a stop at Anthony’s Cheesecake for a sampling of special menu items, an assortment of flavor-packed smoothies at the brand new Curbside Smoothies, and rich desserts and even drinks at Six Points Pub.

When not enjoying new flavors, tour participants will also have the opportunity to learn some local Bloomfield history and find out what’s next in Bloomfield Center from events to the new development from the Bloomfield Center Alliance team.

Care has been taken by our team to choose restaurants that allow for outdoor, indoor distanced seating, and/or grab & go. Group sizes will be capped at 15 people and the tour will adhere to the safety policies of the participating restaurants.

For those who can’t make the first date, future food tours highlighting more Bloomfield Center restaurants are scheduled for August 28 and October 30th.

The Food Tour is one of several events highlighting Bloomfield Center this coming summer. Dinner Under the Stars, a popular alfresco dining event that takes place on Washington Street has been expanded to every Friday through the end of August and Cruise Nights Car Shows which brings classic automobiles and cool tunes to Washington Street.

“Residents and visitors to Bloomfield Center had an incredible time on our Food Tours in 2019, both meeting the entrepreneurs behind the incredible tastes, and trying new food. We’re excited to offer the opportunity again this year and for attendees to experience the incredible, multi-ethnic, creative, and walkable food scene here in Bloomfield Center,” says Ollyn Lettman, Director of the Bloomfield Center Alliance. “We have restaurants that have opened since our last tours like Six Points Pub that opened in the summer of 2020 and Curbside Smoothies that opened just last month.  Others have served Bloomfield Center and the region for years like Anthony’s. We’re excited for people to experience all of them during the course of the coming months.”

Misael and Iliani Sanchez from Curbside Smoothies that opened up just a month ago on Glenwood Avenue shared, “The support we have gotten from the community so far has been fantastic. We try to make people feel really welcome and we think it’s working. We already have a number of regulars here at Curbside because we welcome them. We’re excited to welcome new friends to Curbside Smoothies on the Food Tour.”

The Food Tour of Bloomfield Center this June will begin and end at Bloomfield’s historic Lackawanna Train Station and involve short walks between restaurants. Participants will also be provided information on all restaurants in Bloomfield Center, along with upcoming events and activities.
