Happy Pride Month! Celebrate with These 24 NJ Pride Events this Month

Happy PRIDE! June is National Pride Month and there is plenty to do to celebrate. Although we are all about celebrating the LGBTQA community year-round, we are excited about these upcoming events this June 2021.

Side note: We wish we started this list earlier since a lot of great events have passed…but we didn’t know COVID restrictions would lift so quickly.

Show us your PRIDE decorating contest
Now – June 13

Join Medford Pride and Destination Medford for the first ever show us your PRIDE home and business decorating contest! All businesses and homes within Main Street Medford and Medford Village are welcome to participate.

Woodbury Heights Pride Festival
June 10, 5PM – 10PM

Music, community, love. Socially distanced outside music performance. Bring your masks and lawn chairs.

Haddon Township “Ride with Pride” parade
June 10, 6PM – 8PM

The Haddon Township Parade “Ride with PRIDE event” will take place on Haddon Avenue between Strawbridge and Crystal Lake. The Starting Line for the parade will be sent to confirmed participants and is just a short walk from the parade.

Use your creativity and some fun materials to decorate your nonmotorized bike or wheeled contraption (stroller/wagon/scooter) in a unique and artistic way to #showyourpride at Haddon Township’s Inaugural Pride Parade.

Haddon Township PRIDE Parade and Events
June 10 – 12

Haddon Township, in close collaboration with the Haddon Township Equity Initiative (HTEI), is hosting its first annual PRIDE Parade and festivities in celebration and support of its LGBTQIA+ community. With a June 10th PRIDE Parade kicking off the festivities, HTEI and Haddon Township have created multiple events throughout the week to create connection, show support and share resources.

Berkeley Heights Diversity Council Pride Celebration
June 11, 4:30PM – 6:30PM

“In partnership with the Berkeley Heights Diversity Council and the SAGA Club at Governor Livingston High School, the Summit Area YMCA is proud to host our annual community Pride Celebration on June 11, 4:30-6:30 PM at Columbia Park in Berkeley Heights. This free, family-friendly fun event welcomes all to celebrate and support love and equality in our community! Bring your friends, family, your picnic blankets and/or food to hang out with the Y and show your support!
We will also be collecting hygiene supplies and toiletries for New Alternatives in support of Homeless LGBTQ+ Youth in NYC through June 11. New Alternatives provides a range of services designed to help LGBTQ+ youth succeed in transitioning to stable adult lives and welcomes all youth as they are with no barriers to entry.”

Boonton Rainbow Pride
June 12, 12PM – 8PM

The day will begin with a presentation with the Mayor. Afterwards, we encourage people to walk up Main Street using the sidewalks and pick up lunch or a Pride Plate Special from one of our many wonderful restaurants and shops. End your walk at Grace Lord Park where you can picnic with your family, participate in an interactive art exhibit, and listen to music and speakers!

June 12

What’s In Store? 11am FREE Zumba Class followed by kisses and cuddles from adoptable puppies from Wise Animal Rescue. Makeovers by Red Queen Cosmetics with natural, mineral-based makeup and skincare products *portion of proceeds will be donated to Born This Way Foundation. Auburn Jewelry Pop-Up shop with hand-made jewelry from multiple collections, including the Pride collection. There will also be photo ops, pride cupcakes, refreshments, pride stickers, and a special sweepstakes!

Garden State Equality Walk
June 12 and 13 in Atlantic City and Montclair

The Equality Walk is Garden State Equality’s largest annual community fundraiser. In past years, we’ve had hundreds of individuals in attendance and raised over $100,000. The funds we raise will support the innovative work GSE is doing in the areas of policy, education, and health. Every day, our team is busy advocating for the LGBTQ community in our state and offering programs that can serve as models for other states, agencies, and organizations.

Come out for a night celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community! Collingswood is well known as an inclusive community valuing each of its residents for who they are and what they add to the fabric of the Borough. Our diversity and uniqueness is part of what makes Collingswood where you want to be!

Let’s have fun as a community and share resources for connection from advocacy groups including PFLAG, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and our own Collingswood Public Library. Get Ready! We’re kicking off the night at 5:30pm with Drag Queen Story Hour with Philadelphia’s favorite drag queen, Brittany Lynn of Drag Queen Mafia.

Get creative and paint the flag that represents YOU. Play some games, enjoy live music, dress in your best pride gear and pose for pics in our photo area with photographer Peg Schnyer. Most of all, have FUN with your neighbors!

You’ll find fabulous food vendors, outstanding musical and drag entertainment, a magician for the kids, along with sponsors and vendors who are proud to support the local LGBTQ+ community and share available resources.

Newark LGBTQ Community Center’s Monthly Drag Bingo
June 30, 7PM – 8:30PM

The fabulous and incredible Harmonica Sunbeam will be hosting four rounds of hilarious and charismatic bingo. Prizes will be awarded at each round so y’all better bring that game! Okaaayyyyyy. Make sure to bring your drinks, some light shade, and we will provide the entertainment, honey. Register to get your bingo board — you can use just one ticket/board for all four rounds or purchase multiple tickets/boards to increase your chances of winning!
