New Jersey Diner Review #290: Golden Dawn Diner in Burlington
On a sunny afternoon I met my friend at the Golden Dawn Diner, right off route 130 in Burlington, NJ.
The Golden Dawn Diner prides themselves on high quality items and customer service. They have been voted Burlington County’s Best Restaurant in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011. They are also the first restaurant in Burlington County running on solar power!
Interesting Items on Their Menu:
– Country Fried Steak & Eggs
– Cream Chipped Beef (which can be served in a casserole)
– Clams Casino (their own recipe)
– Dawn Wings (huge rooster wings fried and coated with zesty wing sauce)
– Snapper Soup
– BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich
– Chipotle Burger (asiago cheese and ancho chipotle sauce)
– Fish Tacos (Beer-battered Haddock with lettuce, tomato, and Sriracha tartar sauce)
– Their Pride Meal; Chicken Parmigiana (Fresh chicken breast cutlet breaded and topped with melted provolone cheese and homemade tomato sauce)
– Lots of steak and seafood options
What I loved about their menu was that it was short and concise and still gave you plenty of options!
I started my meal with a chicken and orzo soup because I felt a cold coming on and I was hungry.
It hit the spot and may have prevented a cold!
I also ordered the California Chicken Salad (sliced avocado and bleu cheese crumbles atop mixed greens with grilled chicken breast with balsamic vinaigrette).
Definitely one of the diner salads I’ve had.
In addition to a full bar, the diner proudly serves local Valenzano Wine. You can also purchase bottles there.
