Diner Review #283: The Toms River Diner

It’s been closed for the past two years, but the Toms River Diner is back! The newly owned diner located on Route 37 opened their doors officially in May 2019 (grand opening in September 2019), so my friend Hollie (fueledbyLOLZ.com) and I took a trip to visit.

Their diner menu is your typical diner menu. Not too much stood out beside their chicken cordon bleu omelette. They have your standard breakfast all day, sandwiches, burgers, Greek specialties etc.

In addition to diner staple Arabica Coffee Roasters the TRD (as the locals call it) also has cans of cold brew coffee from Asbury Park-based NITRO Beverage Co.

I ended ordering their “Impossible Burger”, which was actually a beyond burger. Their Impossible burger is one of two vegetarian burger options you can order at the diner.

Although I could have made this burger at home (I was slightly disappointed), I enjoyed my meatless burger with a side of fries. The classic diner fries are something I can never duplicated in my home no matter how hard I try.

Hollie ordered pork chops which came with a salad, potato, and vegetable side. It was a a standard “too much food” diner option for an affordable price.

It’s not the 24-hour diner it used to be, but the Toms River Diner is a great place to visit for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
