Arena Diner Restaurant in Hackensack: Diner Review
I’m doing my best to check off as many Bergen County diners are possible (there’s so many!), so when I found myself in Hackensack for the day I stopped by the Arena Diner Restaurant.
Immediately I was charmed by this large, 24-hour diner that seems to be a neighborhood favorite.
The interior of the diner is adorable with a great diner counter with plenty of seating.
I arrived around 11:30am so it was in between breakfast and lunch and I wasn’t sure what I was truly in the mood for. I mulled it over with coffee, and the Arena Diner Restuarant serves Pascal Coffee a local brand out of Yonkers, NY (I won’t shame theme for not using a NJ brand…they are very close to the border).
The diner has a pretty big menu…here’s some things that stood out:
– Deep Sea Doodle, a broiled combo of shrimp, scallops, fish, lobster tail and stuffed mushrooms
– LOTS of Greek specialties like Pastitsio, Moussake, and Gryros
– Their original “NY” Veggie Burger
– Cherrystone Clams
– 8oz Angus Specialty Burgers
…and more!
Because I thought it might be the last time I could get them this Fall, I ordered their Pumpkin Pancakes which were the best pumpkin pancakes I’ve ever had. Seriously. I did not want to finish them…they were so good.
Dessert wise the diner has PLENTY. From their own cheese cake, to Greek pastries, cannolis, and pies…there’s a lot of to choose from. I decided to decline dessert on this visit..but I was tempted.
I also loved that they offer free cookies on your way out. That always stands out to me when I visit a diner.
Overall my trip to the Area Diner Restaurant was very memorable. Lots of great food, coffee, and great customer service!
