Embrace the Holiday Season with the Cranbury Christmas Lights!

There is nothing I love more than viewing Christmas lights this time of year, and it’s amazing that so many houses in New Jersey love to get in the spirit. Two years ago when I started New Jersey Isn’t Boring, I made it a mission to find houses in New Jersey that put on spectacular displays and discovered the Cranbury Christmas Lights.

Although I only discovered this magnificent house on Main St in Cranbury 2 years, this will be the tenth year the Shaw family has been putting on their annual light show for their community. People drive far and wide to get a glimpse of their elaborate Christmas display.

It takes 4 weeks and 200 hours for Keith Shaw and his family to put together their annual show. It takes over 135,000 lights and 50 computers to make the magic happen.

So what inspires the family every year to put this together? Charity! When you visit the display you will see donation boxes. The Cranbury Chistmas Lights gives 100% of all donations to the Local Food Bank and 100% of all donation they provide to them go directly to those in need.  A suggested donation is $20 for a family of 4.

You can also do their VIP tour! Via their website: “For those who would like to make a generous donation of $100.00 or more, we offer a “Back Stage VIP tour and Parking” On the night of you AND your Family’s visit to us you will park in our driveway, Keith will personally take you and your family on a tour of the lawn, explain how the display works and YOU WILL EVEN GET TO STAND INSIDE THE CENTER OF THE MEGA TREE SURROUNDED BY 46,000 lghts as they dance around you. You will feel like you are in the middle of the stars!! For those who can make it by 5:45 the night of your tour you will even TURN ON THE 120,000 LIGHTS!! This package is NOTHING LESS THAN SPECTACULAR and the best part is that generious donation will help feed several families, it just doesn’t get any better than this!”

I personally loved being inside their tree, which has 50,000 lights.

For their ten year anniversary they’ve added a pyrotechnics element and they will be showcasing their pixel tree which is the biggest in the world (7,000 pixels).

The first show for this year will be Saturday, November 26th at 6pm. They will have 20 shows this holiday season, see their website for details. It runs rain or snow!

Here is a preview of this year’s show:

The Cranbury Christmas Lights is definitely something you have to see for yourself!

PS. Catch the Cranbury Christmas Lights on the national tv show, The Doctors for their Holiday Special on Thursday, December 1st 9am EST.
