White Horse Winery in Hammonton: Review
New Jersey has incredible wineries throughout the state, and Hammonton, New Jersey is home to a bunch of them! White Horse Winery is the newest vineyard to arrive in Hammonton, and I took a trip there to see what they’re all about.
The vineyard is situated on a beautiful and bucolic 56 acre farm. First impressions of White Horse Winery is how beautiful the property is! There is lots of places to sit and relax, and the interior of the winery has a fantastic open space and big bar. I truly loved the overall look to the place! It’s brand new and waiting for people to walk in the door. It made me think of a really big, beautiful, clean, horse barn.
The space also allows them to bring in local musicians, and it was great listening to this duet while we were hanging out inside the winery. They bring in musicians every week so definitely check out their schedule!
I also love that this vineyard is family run by a father and son team, Brock J. Vinton and Brock J. Vinton II who are passionate about wine. While I was there I was lucky enough to get a personal tour of the winery to really get a feel for it.
Of course one of the highlights of the tour for me was hanging out with Macie, the White Horse Winery mascot. Brock J. Vinton II’s dog is super friendly and loves hanging out with patrons at the vineyard. It was also cool getting to see all the different parts of the winery, including the barrel room and where they make the wine.
In addition to having a beautiful inside space, White Horse Winery also has a gorgeous outside space with room to hang out, play games, sip wine etc. I can’t wait to see it in the Fall!
If you’re looking for dry wines, this is the place to be! We tried several wines including their Rose, as well as their 2015 Chardonnay.
Overall we tasted 5 wines from their wine list including their “Sweet Meadows”, a semi-dry white blend with tropical notes. I also tried two of their dry red wines, their signature red “Vintner’s Blend” and their 2014 “Charger” which was a blend of their Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
If you’re looking for a peaceful setting to enjoy fantastic, high quality wines you should definitely be making a trip to White Horse Winery. Their well informed staff will make you feel right at home. They may be new, but they have already established a vineyard with their own style. You should definitely check them out!
