A Sweet and Savory Experience at Whipped Creperie in Red Bank
Downtown Red Bank is full of great things to do, and has plenty of places to eat. One of these places is Whipped Creperie (6 Monmouth St), a cafe that stands out because of its sweet and savory options.
Exhausted after commuting to NYC for her finance job, Erica Lieberman found that baking was her creative outlet. After finding success with selling her cupcakes at trade shows and private events, she finally felt comfortable leaving her job behind. Together with her boyfriend, Nick Napoletano, they approached Red Bank bakery La Patisweet about selling her cupcakes. French chef Marc Fontaine owned the popular bakery that specialized in crepes, and became so friendly with the couple that he wanted them to take over. Whipped Creperie opened for business in September of 2013.
Whipped Creperie has a wide variety of crepes that are perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. The crepes are made with the traditional sweet batter, buckwheat, or gluten free. All of their batter is made from scratch. All of their crepes are made to order.
Some unique crepes you’ll find are their “Crepe Suzette” (Grand Marnier, sugar & orange marmalade), Breakfast Crepes with fillings like Lox, Cream Cheese, Onions & Capers, Eggs, etc, and the “Taco Crepe”. There are so many options, I’m sure you’ll be back for more than one meal.
Their sweet crepes are their most popular, especially their strawberry nutella. I decided to try their “Chipwich” made with soft batch chocolate chip cookies, cookie butter spread, and chocolate sauce topped with vanilla gelato. Needless to say…it was amazing!
In additional to their popular crepes, they also offer Belgian waffles, French Toast, specialty milkshakes, hand pressed coffee, espresso, hot chocolate, Italian soda, and their delicious bubble waffles.
