Vineyard Review: Beneduce Vineyards

While hanging around Hunterdon County, I visited a vineyard I had surprising not been to yet…Beneduce Vineyards.

My first impression of it was how beautiful it was. They host weddings and other special events and this was definitely a gorgeous location to do so in.

They had two options for a wine tasting, a $5 option where you get to try 5 wines (of their choosing) or you can upgrade that for another 5 dollars (that’s 10 dollars in case you are having trouble with math) to add a lovely cheese plate to that.

When we arrived they were offering 5 wines to taste for that day:
– Tuxedo – a WHITE Pinot Noir
– Three Windows White – a Riesling
– Centerfold – Pinot Noir
– Cabernet Sauvignon/Malbec – An Infusion of two Red Wines
– Shotgun Red – Red Wine

I was blown away on how good these wines were. We also got extra lucky because they rarely(almost never) offer the Tuxedo wine for tasting, so we got there on a good day! I have definitely never seen or tasted a white pinot noir before. It was great.

I’m also not usually a red wine person, but I enjoyed all 3 wines we tasted that day. Not too dry!

I enjoyed this vineyard from the ambiance to the wine. The staff was knowledgeable and polite, and helped us understand what we were drinking and what it would pair well with. I wish you could choose the wines you got to taste and that maybe you could try more than 5…but their wine is more expensive than other vineyards so I understood.

Hunterdon County has a few vineyards in the area, so I definitely recommend checking them out and making a day of it!
